"I am not a professional food critic, but I do eat food daily and have experience working in food service. I once worked as a server and as the lead grill cook at High Desert State Prison in Nevada for 4 years. In all my time cooking prison food, I have never encountered a meal as terrible as the one I had at this restaurant. I only chose to order from here because it was the only place open late when I ordered through DoorDash. The sandwich I ordered was made almost entirely of a super greasy, yet rock hard bun that was practically inedible. The bread and other ingredients seemed stale and old. Despite my bravery, taking a bite of this sandwich was a big mistake as it was so revolting that I felt like I would be nauseous for the next decade just thinking about it. This experience is something I will never forget, as it not only failed to satisfy my hunger but also put me off eating altogether. It takes real effort to create something so repulsive, and I am amazed that this restaurant is still in business given the poor quality of the food. I wouldn't accept any amount of money to finish that sandwich, and even the fries were equally unappetizing - soggy, overly greasy, and tasting as though the oil had never been changed. I can't comprehend how fries could taste so bad. Overall, this was the most disappointing food I have ever encountered in my life. Even my 12-year-old daughter could make a better sandwich at a fraction of the cost. It's truly surprising that this establishment is able to operate serving such subpar food. I believe that with some changes, such as improving the menu and reducing overhead costs, this place could easily increase profits by 200-300%. However, I'm uncertain of the damage the poor quality of food has done to its reputation."

"Well I don't write very many poor reviews, and I hate when I have to. Let me preface this review with, my hubby and I are not foodies which in my world means we are not super duper picky but do know good food and value for food when we taste and see it. Anyways, in traveling to Texas our second stop was Tucum Cari (two word pronunciation is two words). Also refer to Yelp for food places which I did and saw it was a four star so I figured it must be good to great. My bad, as I should have read more of the reviews. And perhaps those that have reviewed either tasted or something ordered something different than us. First, the actual interior is very cute, kind of a kick back to the old days, cool vinyl covered half round booths, jukebox, very awesome pizza stove (see pic), people writing on all the bricks which are all around the walls, very open concept dining room (we took our food to go), and kudos to them because they have a booth honoring our POWs/MIA service men along with an great explanation of everything on the table and what it symbolizes. The bathroom was clean and one separate for men and women. They sell Blue Bunny ice cream on cones etcetera. On to the service, when we arrived we were the only guests and gave our order which consisted of one sandwich with fries. After a few moments then 4 other couple guests arrived. In other words our order was first to be ordered. We waited and approximately 10 min later wondered what why would a sandwich take so long to make. However we then noticed he was putting fries into our sandwich box so my husband contributed it to the fact they where supposedly hand cut fries. Maybe that is what took time. All in all, we waited 15 min or more for our one sandwich and fry order. Since you can see the kitchen there was only one guy preparing the food so he must have become overwhelmed with us and the 4 other customer's orders. Okay here comes why my review only is a two star: we get to our hotel room and open up our container and were so disappointed by the sandwich and lack of the filling not to mention the small amount of fries we were given (see pic) especially for the price $9.74. I can get a better and fully loaded sandwich for less at Subway or other places that make sandwiches. I'd say we had more roll than meat. We had to ask for the green chiles on the side and what we were given was definitely not enough for the entire sandwich. Now the fries were indeed tasty as they were hand cut and fried perfectly but the amount for the price was definitely not worth it. You get more fries at a local drive through and some are pretty good. Well needless to say, this will be place we WILL NOT be back to patronize, to bad it's such a small town and I'm sure is need of great places to eat for travelers."
