"GRID IRON IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED Let me start off by saving I 'm so upset for multiple reasons. This place was closed WITHOUT notice to the community. The cost of the menu was more expensive (being a customer for over a decade) but everything has gone up. I did appreciate the streamlined menu. The owner(s) never made themselves available or connected with the community and this place has changed owners at least 3 times. This latest owner had articles written about her from the South Orange press and she clearly didn 't have the business accumen to keep the place going. Not everyone wants a diner breakfast so the elevated menu at Grid Iron was great. RESPONSE TO OWNER 3/241. My family and I have been patronizing this establishment for over a decade and during COVID.2. The guilt trip is what 's unnecessary. If you have that much on your plate and taking on the restaurant wasn 't a priority all well and good. Your lack of experience as an entrepreneur, having a full time job and being talked into/sold on a business with you have no background in the restaurant industry is no excuse for lack of decency.3. A proper notice typed and taped on the door, social media page and updating the status on Google is the responsible thing to do to notify the community. Myself and several others had to walk up to the door and see kitchen closed and the place looking like it was robbed with a realty sign in the window.4. I gain nothing but actually communicating which is something that you didn 't do. There are several restaurants also affected by COVID that are still operational in the community.5. What did you gain? The business is CLOSED and your responding for what? Instead of calling my review unnecessary, the right thing would have been to say thank you for being a long time customer. Sorry things happened the way that they did instead of trying to make me out to be wrong and for you to gain sympathy over a poorly handled situation."

"Restaurants like this give OTP Atlanta a bad reputation for eating out. Very unprofessional servers, a manager who was grumpy and defensive when our food came out wrong twice! Missing items and missing ingredients for several things, but nobody bothers to let you know until your food already gets to the table. Also, it takes a really, really long time for the food to come out of the kitchen. There is nothing farm to table about this place. I will say the kitchen does a good job keeping things fresh and what they do send out is fine. But, it's nothing special. And the management and the server is need to get on the stick about communicating with the kitchen and what's available and what's not. And then when something is screwed up when it comes out to the table, the manager needs to at the very least, apologize for things being so messed up and so slow and so wrong! It was stunning how grumpy The manager was it was like she just was mad we were there at all. Very very unprofessional. Also, it was very expensive. It was pricey by intown standards, and this place is kind of out in the sticks. The servers are a little rough around the edges, and that might be charming if the food was really good and the place was otherwise professional. But to get rough service, grumpy manager, no apology from anybody for things being completely screwed up.... I do not see how this place is still open. Also, after we went to the restaurant, I checked. The county health department restaurant inspection and they only have a B The food isn't good enough and the prices aren't low enough to get them. An excuse to have a grade that low. Just sad and amateurish all the way around."

"The restaurant isn’t very large, featuring a couple of outdoor tables and a mix of tables, booths, and bar seating. The tables accommodate four, while the booths can snugly fit about six. There is also a semi-private area with a table that can be reserved for larger groups, so definitely consider making a reservation for that space. There were no physical menus available, except for small cards detailing the milkshake of the month and the burger of the month. The rest of the menu is accessible through QR codes you can scan to view on their website. I ordered the classic 50/50 burger, while my friend chose the bacon BBQ burger. Our food arrived quickly, and I was pleased with the flavor of my burger; you could definitely taste the bacon integrated into the meat. It had a nice char, which I usually enjoy for added flavor and texture, but in this case, there was perhaps a bit too much, giving it a slightly burnt taste. The sunny-side-up egg was slightly overcooked, resulting in not much runny yolk, and it seemed to be on the small to medium side. There was a decent portion of fries, but their texture was a bit off, and the seasoning of salt and pepper felt a little light. However, the special house ketchup was excellent. My friend said his burger was outstanding and appreciated the char on it. His burger, which didn’t have the bacon blend, appeared slightly larger than mine, likely because mine included the bacon. The bacon in his sandwich looked thick and well-cooked. An interesting feature was that when we received the bill, we could scan another QR code to pay it directly on our phones. That was a first for me! I do hope that people don’t take advantage of this and try to dine and dash, claiming they’ve already paid. Overall, I’ll likely return the next time I’m in the area to try more menu items."

"I think I 'll break this review down into 2 parts; The Praise and The Criticisms . Let 's start with the good stuff: THE PRAISE (The Food)The Fries and the Biscuits are both out of this world. I believe the menu refers to the fries as really good fries and they 're not exaggerating. Those are some of the best fries I 've ever had. The biscuits come with whipped butter and a jam and and they are soooo delicious. Make sure to get both of these . My husband ordered the BLT and really enjoyed it there wasn 't a crumb left. The service , once we were seated the girls were pleasant and attentive but just kinda slow THE CRITICISMS1.The hostess. She was soooo bland and meh and seemed confused. When we walked in there wasn 't any acknowledgement that we walked in for an awkward amount of time when she did finally acknowledge , and we stated we wanted a table for 2, she just said ok and then left for several minutes. We didn 't know if there was a 30 min wait, no wait, she didn 't say we will be with you shortly, I mean literally nothing. Honestly if I wasn 't from out of town and knew of other food options in the area I might have left but I was not familiar with this area so we stayed. After several minutes she came and sat us never having smiled once she was honestly horrible at her job2. It was quite warm in there . Not smoldering but definitely warm. We were there between 2pm and 3pm and it was 91° and I don 't believe the AC was on seeing as the front door and what seemed to be a back door were wide open I think they were trying to use fresh air. I think they might have turned the AC on around 2:50 but we were wrapping up already.3. For the biscuits my husband and I were sharing and they didn 't bring a 2nd plate so we had to leave the plate in the middle and use napkins as little improv plates. I would have asked for a 2nd plate but they checked on us so infrequently , the next time they came by was with our food, after we had finished the biscuits. (Pictured attached of our improv situation)4. Next point there was a small piece of plastic wrap either in our biscuit or in the whipped butter I just know I looked up and saw my husband about to take his first bite of delicious biscuit smothered in delicious butter and I saw the piece of plastic and pulled it out. We 're not fussy people so we just set it aside and enjoyed the biscuits. Mistakes happen and I 'm just glad we saw it.5. Lastly my sandwich the trip tip dip I did not like. I will say this was mainly due to the very strong black pepper taste. We all have that one seasoning we just can 't stand and for me it 's black pepper so if you like black pepper disregard this comment because you will probably enjoy this sandwich but I basically hate black pepper and therefore have a high pallete sensitivity for tasting it and it 's all I could taste . I ended up not eating it but I didn 't send it back because I did eat and enjoy all my fries and was full on the fries and the biscuit and was overall happy and satisfied I know that may seem like a lot of criticisms but the food was overall so good that I still felt it deserved a 4 star and I would absolutely go back. I like to be thorough so that owners can get helpful feedback to improve and thrive but overall I was satisfied with my experience."
