"Funmi's Cafe is tucked away in the middle of a shopping center, so you really have to seek it out. It's a cozy spot with basic tables and chairs, and at first glance, it could give off a slightly rundown vibe—perfect for the incredible meal that awaited us. I have never tasted food like this before; it was authentically African and unique, with only the dinner salad being instantly recognizable. The menu featured delicious plantains, goat, and tripe, alongside more familiar options like chicken, beef, potatoes, kale, and tomato sauces—all infused with an earthy flavor. The prominent use of cardamom made for an interesting palate experience, with flavors ranging from mild to quite spicy, so prepare for bold tastes and generous portions. There were various bean dishes, each one tasty in its own right. However, our young children didn't take to the flavors, and there weren’t many options for them, as there isn’t a kids’ menu. I suggested that adding hot dogs could be a great idea for picky eaters. The chicken and rice, though, was acceptable for them. The staff were wonderful, service was prompt, and while the setting is simple, the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for something unique—it's a meal you won’t forget!"
