"We had a great meal at Mandinas on New Year’s day. Our party ordered a few apps and dishes, including the calamari, seafood gumbo, eggplant parmesan (our favorite dish of the night), chicken parm, pasta with shrimp, shrimp creole, and catfish almondine. Food came out so fast! Portions were huge and we had plenty of leftovers."

It came with two corns( looked like one corn cut in half), four potatoes( probably two red potatoes cut in half), and some sausages. I think I will just get two pounds of shrimp and crawfish if I were ever to get this combo again. We got mild but it was a bit spicy for kids and too garlicky( too much chunk of garlic).Clam chower 1 out of 5For 10.99 and the portion was just so tiny. "The food was quite good. I stopped by during my lunch break and was a bit worried when I arrived to find the place locked up and dark, wondering if I had ordered while it was closed. Thankfully, I spotted a small window meant for picking up orders. The gentleman who brought out my order was friendly, but he didn't ask if I needed anything else when he handed me my sealed bag. I was hoping there would be sauces and utensils inside, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I would have appreciated some lemon for my calamari, but it wasn't a huge issue. Overall, it was a solid quick dining option; my food was hot and ready in about 15 minutes."

"When I first walked in, I couldn't tell if the place was even open since nobody was behind the counter or in the kitchen, but rather, they were sitting near the door filling out various papers. If you come here you will quickly learn that the owner runs both his restaurant as well as a tax/immigration service through the same building. Interesting, to say the least. The decor is very cheesy with a lot of old Star Wars art work parodied with sayings about fish, but it's still nice considering how small the restaurant is (only around 5 seats). Coming from California I am used to good fish so I didn't expect this place to compete and if you are hoping I was pleasantly surprised, I wasn't. The fish was good but nowhere near the best in the galaxy. The breading fell apart and the flavor was quite weak even with the hottest spice level. He was out of almost every side and the French fries, while cooked very well, lacked almost all flavor (would be great with more salt or spices though if I am rating this place on food alone I would rate it as slightly above average compared to nearby fried fish restaurants. Nothing compared to what I would get on the west coast. I did experience a bit of digestive issues later at night but it wasn't horribly unpleasant and I don't really think it was the fish, though it is worth noting. HOWEVER, the owner is just such an interesting and quirky guy that you find yourself enjoying the food more than you otherwise would. He is very friendly and even puts on a bit of a show while he's cooking and you can tell that he genuinely enjoys what he does. It was a bit weird when he started trying to speak a bunch of random Asian languages (quite poorly) though but hey, the guys a showman. Bottom line: You can certainly get your fish fix here and it's worth coming at least once just for the owner. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to place a large order and pick it up, otherwise you will probably find better fish elsewhere."

"Oh my goodness! I had the worst meal ever at this restaurant! The food was absolutely terrible. Everything seemed to be fried in the same dirty grease and had a funky taste. It was very disappointing. The shrimp, oysters, fish, fried crabs, onion rings, and chicken were all burnt and soggy from the grease. The pile of fries was equally disappointing. We ended up spending $164 for this meal. Chicken is such a simple dish to prepare, but even that was burnt without any seasoning. Luckily, there was a Vons store across the street where we bought some salsa and chips to snack on, which ended up being our dinner. Overall, we were very disappointed with the entire experience. I do not approve or recommend this place to anyone!"

"This is the second time in two weeks and was impressed yet again!!! My hubby and I decided to try something different and had the shrimp basket for an appetizer to share. Get the garlic fries!!! Soooo good and worth it! The shrimp had just the right amount of breading and cooked beautifully. My entree was Crawfish étouffée and I have said before and I will say it again. One bite and I literally travelled back to the French Quarter in Nola. It was rich in flavor and full of tender crawfish tails. You will not be dissatisfied! My hubby got the house steak which was cooked perfectly with homemade mash potatoes. When a restaurant can cook both steak and seafood perfectly, you know you have a winner! I think the Salmon will be next!"
