"Kantine has quickly become one of my favorite spots in San Francisco. This Scandinavian restaurant offers a diverse menu that includes everything from pastries to porridge bowls, along with customizable brunch options. During my first visit, I ordered the savory grain porridge, which features a delightful combination of three grains, asparagus, kale, and farmer's cheese. They also offer the option to add a runny egg and crispy bacon bits for an extra cost. I arrived with a voracious appetite and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size, which was certainly not a drawback! The porridge was outstanding—I never knew that asparagus and farmer's cheese could pair so well together.
I also tried their yogurt bowl, not realizing how much food I was already getting. The yogurt was creamy, lightly sweet from the berry purée, and had a tangy kick from what I believe were sea buckthorns. I definitely need to learn more about these! Overall, Kantine is the perfect place for a casual bite or a more substantial meal, whether you're dining solo or enjoying the company of friends and family."
