"For our appetizer, we shared calamari that was among the most tender I’ve ever tasted. The breading had the ideal consistency, and the tomato sauce was light enough to enhance the flavor of the squid without overpowering it. My fiancé chose the four cheese tagliatelle, which was evidently made in-house with that delightful elasticity typical of fresh egg noodles. The sauce was rich and cheesy but not overly thick or gloopy. I opted for the minestrone, which had perfectly cooked vegetables. They were well-seasoned and tender while still retaining some texture. For my main course, I ordered the gnocchi with ragout. Initially, I was hesitant because there were so many appealing dishes on the menu, and I worried that I might miss out by choosing something so simple. I couldn't have been more wrong. This gnocchi was so light that it practically melted in my mouth. The sauce was rich yet allowed the flavor of the dumplings to stand out. The meat was cut evenly, fork-tender, and still substantial. This gnocchi moved me to tears; it was the best I’ve had since my grandmother passed away. The first bite transported me back to when I was four, sitting on her kitchen floor, savoring it fresh off the stove. Overall, this meal was a wonderful experience and the perfect conclusion to our brief stay in New York. I offer this restaurant the highest praise I can give, one that I’ve only reserved for a select few. I would have happily paid much more for this meal."

"We pick a different restaurant every Christmas Eve for a family dinner. Tonight we arrived for our 7pm reservation. We were seated in the back room which was rather empty and quiet. We sat at the table for nearly 10 minutes before receiving menus or water.Once the waiter came over with menus he quickly left leaving us for another 20 minutes. When he came back we ordered drinks and asked for bread (kids were starving) and all our food (Filet, Mashed, Mac Cheese, Creamed Spinach and Lobster Ravioli). I was advised that the sides were VERY SMALL and would have to order double mashed for the kids and myself, so I did) He returned 10 minutes later with 4 sodas (all which were flat and bad) forgetting my wine. Our appetizers came out at 8:27! And still no sight of the waiter or my wine. I was able to flag down a bus boy and ask him to get it for me and it came shortly after. The waiter poured a tasting and left! He didn 't even wait for me to try it and let him know it was awful! (So now we are all with no drinks/water) The waiter returns to another table close and we are able to tell him about the drinks being flat and he said I know we have been having that problem . Offered to take it off the bill (thanks) but again, left in a hurry. Our food finally came out at 8:44. The Lobster Ravioli was OK. Filet was undercooked and no flavor, 2 mashed was entirely too much and the spinach was not edible. The Mac and cheese was good. But again, no waiter. I was finally able to order a seltzer (one glass) and the bus boy came out with a $10 large bottle of Pellegrino, opened already and a glass. We were finished quickly as we didn 't eat much and were ready to go, kids were tired. We were able to get the bill around 9:45ish. I asked the waiter for the cap to my Pellegrino and he couldn 't fit the cork back in so he put an open bottle of water in a white paper bag and sent us on our way. Despite having bad service and meal we still tipped him 25% for the holidays"
