"The portion sizes and food quality we received were significantly worse than before. I ordered the same dish as I had in the past, but they served me about half the amount of meat, which was overcooked and burnt. The meat was tough and felt like chewing on rubber. You can see the stark difference in the photos; the third photo shows my previous order with a generous portion and better presentation, while the first photo reflects my latest meal. I genuinely felt like I had received a kids' menu dish.
It wasn’t just me; my friend ordered the same dish and received even less than I did. Another friend ordered a beef sandwich, which looked terrible. The beef was overcooked and, while I didn't taste it myself, it certainly didn't look appetizing. There was a lot of char on the meat, and he mentioned that it was very tough.
After receiving that disappointing chicken plate, I showed them the past photo. They did provide us with extra chicken, which seems like a reasonable response given the evident difference in portion size. However, even the additional meat was overcooked and rubbery, as seen in the fourth and fifth photos.
I don't understand how Urban Plates has changed so drastically. Perhaps they hired a new chef, or maybe the chef had enjoyed one too many drinks? Either way, Urban Plates needs to put more effort into maintaining their food quality. This meal certainly wasn't worth $18—I would say it was worth a maximum of $10, including the tip."
