"My boyfriend asked me if there were any small diners in town as we drove through East Peoria. So, I pulled out my handy phone and went to Google: “small diners in East Peoria”. June’s was the first that popped up, with 300+ reviews and over 4 stars, it sounded promising and we liked their menu, so we drove over to check it out! I don’t usually try new places, but I’m glad I did. June’s is easy to spot with the flashing light board outside. Greeted when we came in, and told to pick a seat! They had a full house, which usually means happy customers! Menu had nice variety and breakfast here all day, but their hours are only 5 2p. Still not bad! The decor inside is cute, clean bathrooms with hot and cold water which are neatly taken care of. Great staff, food didn’t take long to make and it came out fresh and delicious! The gravy was a bit bland, but still good with a little added salt, and I just ate it with my skillet breakfast which was SO GOOD. Definitely makes me feel at home here, and seems to be kept busy by hungry, but satisfied customers! Our waitress, Virginia, was great! PLUS they have paper straws here! Awesome!"

"Then there’s the music—it’s some of the worst I’ve ever heard. The decor also needs attention; a few fresh flowers would do wonders. Incorporating some winter berries, bittersweet, and fresh blooms would brighten the space. And those vinyl tablecloths? They feel outdated, reminiscent of something my mother would have used. It’s unfortunate because the restaurant has some lovely antiques and nice photographs of The Ashokan, which deserve more recognition. Also, please, don’t turn people away! The place could benefit from a cozier atmosphere. My suggestion is to raise your prices while creating a warmer and more inviting environment instead of skimping on the little things. As for the food and service, I've always thought they were solid, though the wait for salads and initial drinks can be frustrating when the parking lot is mostly empty. On a positive note, parking isn’t an issue at this location."

"It was our first time in the area and we stopped to eat. The service was great and the people are nice. Wonderful drinks. Unfortunately the food wasn’t as great. I really wanted to like it! My husband said his chili was delicious. My meal had little flavor and fell flat. Not even the vegetables were appetizing. They have wifi in a total dead area so that was a plus!"

"Stopped in to Beseckers today to continue my tour of “the best omelet in the Poconos”. This was bittersweet for me right out of the gate because I used to come here often with my father before he passed away. I haven’t been here in over 15 years…it was my first time in without him. My server was very friendly and good at her job. The place honestly looked exactly as I remember it looking a decade and a half ago. I ordered a western omelet with cheese, home fries, and rye toast. Trying to keep my order nearly the same everywhere I go so I can rate accurately. There were onions available for the home fries so I opted in for those. I love me some onions. The Omelet was cooked well, probably the best I’ve had so far as far as the cook on the eggs goes. Very light spots of brown here and there but pretty much spot on. The ham dice was a bit larger than ideal so some bites were a bit tough, like large pieces of ham can be. Otherwise this was excellent. The home fries were cooked well and the onion flavor was awesome. The toast was toast. The coffee was good, not great. This cost a little more than other spots but home fries were an add on, and the onion was also an add on. Typically these spots have home fries come automatically with the omelet so I was surprised by that, but perhaps because the clientele is primarily senior citizens I guess maybe they don’t eat as much and it made more sense this way. If that was the case though, the omelet could have been another couple dollars less. All in all it was a solid breakfast and I’m happy I came. Besecker’s diner in Stroudsburg, PA Didn’t Suck!"
