"My wife and I have dined at Short Hills several times and have always enjoyed our meals. However, our most recent visit with another couple who had never been there was quite disappointing. We had just an hour before graduation, and our waitress had a rather unfriendly attitude. One of our friends ordered a hot corned beef sandwich, but it was served cold, and the waitress seemed annoyed that she had to take it back to the kitchen. My potato pancakes were overcooked and lacked flavor. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time, and it was bustling with energy! It's definitely the go-to spot for smoked fish. I tried the smoked sturgeon and salmon combo with scrambled eggs and a bagel, and it was fantastic! However, the service was somewhat brusque, and I was surprised to find out they don't accept credit cards. If there had been a sign, a note on the menu, or a heads-up from the waitstaff about needing cash, it wouldn't have been an issue. Instead, I had to rush to an ATM after finishing my meal."

"It's everything you want in an old school Brooklyn luncheonette. Great coffee. Good food served fast and with friendly service. Usually room at the counter which is good because I'm usually alone. The only reason I WOULD have left off a star is because they don't have a public wifi. I really need that at the time that I go to lunch there. I decided to give five stars because these places are disappearing and I love them so much. Prices also totally reasonable. I love that these days."
