"This was my first visit to Chicago, and I wanted to find an affordable place to stay. Freehand exceeded my expectations! I stayed in a female quad room, which was small but manageable. Since it's an older building, I wasn’t anticipating anything fancy. What really stood out to me was the atmosphere. Everyone—staff and fellow guests alike—were incredibly friendly, including the lovely woman serving brunch at the bar. When I returned from my event, the lounge in the back was bustling with energy. I was too tired to join in, but it looked like a lot of fun. The bed was comfortable, although my only minor issue was that the lamp in my pod wasn’t working, so I had to rely on my phone flashlight. Overall, it was a fantastic value for the price. If I find myself back in Chicago, I will definitely stay here again."
