"We've been to Kohinoor and think it's the best Indian restaurant in the area. The restaurant is attractive and service is attentive and unrushed. The real attraction is the food. They have a wide ranging Indian menu that offers all the cuisine's top hits. The food is fresh and cooked to order. Their sauces have layers of flavors which are delicious with their amazing breads. They've recently expanded their menu and are offering some new dishes. I tried a shrimp appetizer at our last visit and absolutely loved it. I'm eager to go back and explore more of those new dishes. Lastly, Alan is a great manager who checks in with his guests and offers suggestions but never intrudes on the meal. We will be back."

"I went to avoid! for dinner yesterday to celebrate an anniversary and ordered both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes, but unfortunately, they were all tasteless. The meat dishes were especially disappointing due to the heavy seasoning."

"Finally, Indian cooking that doesn't load everything up with hot peppter to make up for lack of cooking expertise. They manage to spice things delicately to bring out the true flavors of the sauces and foods. I suppose if you want it really hot, they'll do it. Nice place to eat well prices are quite moderate also a dying art and have a conversation. What a concept! Highly recommended."

"I order chicken tikka masala and plain paratha. What I received was probably the most disappointing chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had. It had onions in it, which I hate, was watery, and the chicken was flavorless. The paratha was wheat (again, never had wheat paratha before it’s always been white) and it was burnt. Very disappointing. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1"

"The carryout menu has a cow symbol with an X through it next to all the vegetarian menu items that can be made vegan upon request. There are several, including the roti that can also be made vegan. The server also showed me the items on the buffet that were vegan and he even made me a dish of fried cauliflower with spicy chutney from the buffet even though I ordered off the menu. We were very pleased with the service and the flavor. Convenient location easy to access."

"I have only been to this restaurant once. The interior is not bad or the worst, it actually looks good. The lighting makes it more interesting, and the guard greets you when you enter the restaurant. The most interesting part is the service and behavior of the staff. There were no issues with comfort or the restroom. As for the food, the quality was good, although not exceptional. The presentation of the food was very impressive. The prices are not very expensive, but not very cheap either. It's reasonable, I would say. I recommend visiting this place, as it will be a good experience. The desserts are particularly tasty and worth trying."

"I recently had the pleasure of trying the veg thali at this restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The thali was beautifully presented with a diverse array of flavorsome dishes. Each component was thoughtfully prepared and had its unique taste that blended harmoniously. From the aromatic curries (kadai paneer , Daal Makhni and methi malai matar) to the perfectly cooked vegetables and lentils, every bite was a delightful journey for the taste buds. The balance of spices was just right, adding a nice kick without overpowering the natural flavors of the vegetables. The rice and assorted bread were the perfect accompaniment, completing the meal wonderfully. The attentive staff and warm ambiance added to the overall dining experience. Vegetarian options: Various kind of pakora, Samosa , chaats and veg curries"

"I have been dining at this restaurant for 10+ years. I like their food. I always tip 20%. Only recently have I found out that they already include 15% service fee in the overall bill and I tipped 20% over that. It would be nice that they would tell me about this charge. Instead, on the credit card signature page, they still leave you with a blank to tip. I am writing this review to remind others. updated review: In response to the response from the owner: Dear Taste of Indian, I apologize for not reading the itemized receipt carefully. I apologize for not knowing that it is a standard procedure to charge 15% service fee for a large group. I thought it would be a good idea to bring all my 9 students plus 1 colleague to dine at your restaurant so that they could bring their families later. That's how much I like your restaurant and your food. Clarification 1: I didn't receive a refund and I no longer feel that I need it. The important thing is that my students and I had a great time on November 4th to celebrate they completion of a program. Both the food and the experience totally worth the $32.09 service charge and the $50 tip. Clarification 2: no one brought the receipt to my table. I went to the front desk and I asked for a receipt. A woman printed it out and gave it to me there. Therefore I didn't have time to read the receipt. Again, my mistake. I will be more careful from now on. We love your food. I would appreciate that no one spit in my food next time I am there. Five stars for your food. Five stars for your service. Peace. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"We tried the Maharaja salt lassi, but it was a bit too salty for our taste buds. If you’ve never had it before, it tastes like a very salty cucumber yogurt. We felt a little embarrassed to mention it, but they graciously switched it to the Shahi sweet lassi, which was delicious! The service was incredibly quick and professional. We ordered the Mutton Marag soup, which was spicy and delightful; the Murgh Korma, which was a bit spicy and very tasty; the Goat Makhani, which was quite spicy and delicious; the Basmati rice, perfectly cooked; the Garlic Naan, always a favorite; and the Poori, which was fun to eat as it was nice and puffy. I just wish we had saved room for dessert! After we finished eating, they packaged our leftovers in really nice to-go containers and moved the table again so I could get out. Our host, Tarak—I hope I remembered that right—was wonderful! He shook hands with both me and my fiancé, asked if everything was okay, and wished us a happy farewell for the new year. They even accompanied us next door to retrieve my wheelchair, which they had kept safe in a locked restaurant. Our experience absolutely exceeded our expectations! We left with smiles, feeling like part of their family. We almost went back inside for a picture with Tarak! I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a fantastic meal and even better service!"

"The food is great. The owner is very hospitable. However, each time that I have been to Namaste, the server has had problems understanding my order, which makes things uncomfortable.I really like this place and wish more people knew about it. It is a very lonely restauarant, meaning that it doesn't have a lot of eat in customers. I certainly hope the carryout business is good because it would be a shame for this restaurant to close its doors"

"The absolute best experience and by far the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The prices are so reasonable so I highly recommend getting a little bit of everything and doing family style. I was able to try the garlic, plain and spinach naan, samosas, pakora, lamb biryani, and chicken saag. The food was absolutely phenomenal and it paired beautifully with their mango juice which was incredibly fresh. Mohan went above and beyond to make sure every dish was amazing and catered to our dietary needs/preferences. Him and Sophie also consistently checked on us to make sure we always had everything we needed. I cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be back as soon as possible!"

"This is one of my favorite eating places in town. I've been there twice in the last 2 weeks and the food is always awesome. Last night I had tandoori chicken with a spice range of 5 out of 10. I played it safe but it was really nice and spicy. The rice and the naan bread were awesome as well. I followed that up with a lemongrass soup that was fantastic. I'll be sure to give them another visit very soon. The ambiance was fantastic as well as the staff. They were very friendly and helpful and got my order right the first time. The next time I go I will plan to eat there as I've been taking everything home the last two visits. Great job and I give them a RAVE review...."

"As an appetizer, I got the Vegetarian Platter: Onion Bhaji, Veggie Pakora, 2 Vegetable Samosas $12. I really enjoyed the Onion Bhaji Veggie Pakora; both were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The Vegetable Samosas were good, but I wasn't a fan of their tamarind sauce, at all. It was way too tart and had no hint of the sweetness that I like in my tamarind sauces. My main entree was the vegan Aloo Saag $14, which I ordered spicy/hot. It was ok, but it was too dry and it had zero spice. I have had delicious vegan Aloo Saag at other restaurants, so they cannot use the excuse that the lack of cream is the culprit. I have no idea where the spice went, but none of it went into my dish. I was very disappointed, and it was certainly not worth $14. I was told that the only vegan bread options were the roti and the Aloo Pratha. I don't like roti so I got the Aloo Pratha $5. The bread was hard (too difficult to cut) and not tasty. I had issues with their cleanliness. When we arrived at the dinner opening time, we were the first ones there. The benches had not been cleaned or wiped down from the lunch crowd (which was about 3 hours earlier). I had to ask the waiter to wipe the seats. Also, there was some sort of food in my water glass. I had to ask for a new glass. Lastly, I saw a guy get hired immediately after about a 2 minute interview, which was cool. It was not cool to see him immediately start waiting tables and he was holding one tables' water glasses against his shirt! I think the manager said something because the new guy then placed the already tainted glasses on a tray. The prices were too high for the quality (of food service) and amount of food that you get. It is unlikely that I will re visit."

"Good restaurants near me now. It 's crucial to know what restaurants are open right now near you if you want to eat well. I won 't be able to eat if the nearest restaurant is closed! Fortunately, we discovered that several fantastic businesses around me in the Indianapolis region are open until 11 p.m. On weekdays and even later on weekends, while some operate 24 hours a day, and extras/type of services may include Mexican, Italian, Indian, breakfast, Chinese, Thai, vegan, african, bbq seafood, and a gluten free experience, all of which are consistently reviewed by a large number of people on a daily Shalimar indian restaurants. The management team is only a few months old, but they are already outstanding! Immediately! The chef prepares delicious food, and I 've never met such a welcoming, open minded attitude in another Indian restaurant. Despite the fact that the management team only took over a month ago, it feels like they were born to accomplish this.! Do remember your host deserves Tip. From the Indian restaurant Shalimar. "I thought eating was good, but I'm not an expert in Indian food though I like it very much. the personal was super nice and the atmosphere was very nice with tablecloths, etc. the problem for me was the price. for two people and we had nothing to drink, but water was $33 that contains 20% drinking money for lunch. the only thing we ordered was a naan that was $5. I guess I could even have less a problem with the price if there was a lot of food, how could they put the rest in a box and have lunch the next day. but the amount we got was so small, forget it. I have something huh and it may have had 4 small cubes of huh and very small sauce. it is just too expensive for us to lunch for the amount we have."
