"There was 2 of us and the only ones in the restaurant . The hostess was very rude . Waited ten minutes for her aknowledge us. Didn’t even say hello just said “ no sushi and only 1 check “ . We should’ve turned away there. She’s the hostess ,bartender , server , everything. We sat down and she again said “ one check only “ about 2 -3 more times. They don’t usegarlic butter. They used 1 egg for all of our fried rice but he burnt half and threw it out so it was really only half a egg .The filet was PERFECT , soo good . The food in general was good but could’ve been better with garlic butter. The drinks weredelicious and thankfully you could taste the liquor because she said they only came with 1 shot . So fast forward . We get ourbill and they Automatically charged 20% gratuity . I asked about it because typically it’s only automatically applied tolarger groups. She said everyone has to pay 20% even if it’s a party of 1 . The tip was almost the price of my plate. Thenafter I sign there was still a place to leave a tip ! We were going to tip her regardless but not 20% because the service justwas terrible . She disappeared after taking our order and didn’t return until we had to search for her. Not only that but whatirritated me the most was the fact that she told us “one check “ 4 X but didn’t mention the gratuity charge once . Shesaid there was a sign at the entrance. On the way out I looked for the sign and it was a piece of paper that was all torn up onthe desk , I should’ve took a picture . . . $204 for 2 plates 3 drinks , terrible service but good food. Will not return ."

"The restaurant has a very cute, trendy vibe with an intimate dining room. Btw, parking can be a challenge but if you luck up get a parking spot directly outside the restaurant on Lancaster Avenue, it's free. The ramen...WOW! I had every intention of taking some home but nope...ate every last bit there! As a pescaterian, majority of the ramen dishes had pork broth BUT there was about 3-4 chicken/vegetable/shrimp ramen bowls. Since I had the Vegetable Miso Ramen on my 1st visit (highly recommend! , I tried the Green Curry Ramen and this dish too measured up! There's a full bar and I definitely want to return to try their sushi which I hear is great too. Ishmael was a great server! The only reason I'm giving Ramen Bar a 4 instead of 5 stars is because I asked for a little hot sauce to add to my ramen and the young lady gave me Bakudan which was delish but an additional $3 and didn't even advise beforehand (total pet peeve of mine ! I never heard of an additional charge for hot sauce and even so, generally a condiment charge is only $1-2; $3 is pretty steep. But go figures because if you add shrimp to the Vegetable Miso Ramen it's an additional $7. I guess they don't care about making things reasonable even though the restaurant is located on Drexel's campus. Also it would be nice if Ramen Bar's Happy Hour pricing returned like it had pre-pandemic (the HH menu is still on the restaurant's IG page ."
