"Worst Dining Experience Ever, Food Doesn't Make up for it. I was hoping to try this place because I live very close and was looking for a good spot to frequent. Came in and got seated somewhat quickly after they cleared a table, but then once I was sat no one came to greet me for at least 20 minutes. When I finally got my order in they didn't bring me utensils when my food came out, and then when they did come back they gave me silverware but no chopsticks? I asked for soy sauce and they gave me Togo packets without a dish to put it in. So I emptied it all over my plate since I had no idea where tf the server was. Sushi came out and I had to ask for chopsticks because they only gave me a fork and I couldn't pick up my rolls by stabbing them. Good was mid at best. The veggie tempura tasted a lot heavier than anywhere else I get it, and the sauce had the taste of something from a large commercial mix. Idk I won't be back. It wasn't even very affordable. $5 for a miso soup that was alright but not special at all. I haven't actually had an experience that bad in a long time. I also used to be a server restaurant manager so I'm pretty forgiving but I left this place feeling regretful I ever came in or spent money there. I wish I would have gone to Soberfish or Momo, IF YOURE SLAMMED STOP SEATING PEOPLE. Jesus. It's better than giving them a terrible experience."

"I ordered several dishes, and here’s my take on them: 1. **Drunken Basil Noodles (Pad Kee Mow)** - I requested it to be very spicy, but it lacked heat. Maybe I should have asked for it to be "extra spicy." I found the dish to be quite oily, to the point that I had to discard a significant portion. The vegetable lo mein didn’t differ much from the side I ordered—just wider noodles and tofu. The portion was small for the price, and I won’t be ordering this again. 2. **Thai Panang Curry with Veggies and Tofu (plus extra potato)** - I also asked for this to be spicy, but the dish was sweet instead, lacking the heat I expected. The flavor was standard for Panang curry, and while it was tasty, it wasn’t what I wanted. I also noticed I was charged extra for the potato sausage, which was not part of my original order. 3. **Sweet Lo Mein** - This dish was oily and small, and the taste was off—likely due to the excess oil used, which didn't seem fresh. I wouldn’t order this again either. 4. **Pad Thai with Beef and Shrimp** - My partner ordered this separately a few hours later and was disappointed with the taste. It was just as oily as my dishes, and despite being ordered much later, it was still heavy and overpriced for what it offered. **Pros:** - The staff was friendly. **Cons:** - The portion sizes were disappointing for the price: I paid around $43.00 for two dishes (including the extra potato in the curry), one plate of lo mein, and a small side of jasmine rice, plus tip. - All the noodle dishes were overly oily and heavy, making them difficult to enjoy. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience."

"I must admit I have approached Mae Phim with YEARS of caution. Despite working in an office not even half a block away for almost 5 years, today was my first visit. Although Pad Thai is my favorite food of all time, I rarely crave it for lunch and tend to seek lighter cuisines. Today, I caved and placed an order online for a HOT (spiciest level available) chicken Pad Thai. First off, it 's very strange that they offer two sauces for Pad Thai--red and brown. My assumption is that the brown sauce is the authentic version made with tamarind sauce, and red sauce is probably the abhorrent ketchup variety, but there 's no explanation on their menu, so that 's just pure speculation. I tend to avoid Thai restaurants that offer the abhorrent ketchup variety like the plague, but at least you get to choose here? Anyways, the order was ready when promised, and they didn 't skimp on portion. Very generous portions of chicken, although it would have been nice if they were cut up into smaller pieces to make it easier to eat. I was, however, disappointed by the COMPLETE lack of spice. Because there was no spice in my HOT Pad Thai, the dish tasted too sweet, and unbalanced as a result. It 's a shame, since it really would have been a good pad thai if it had some spice to it. Despite this, I would probably be willing to return and try one of their lunch special combos (and maybe keep some thai chili flakes at my desk)."
