"Pros: 1) The atmosphere is pleasant, and 2) some dishes are presented beautifully.
Cons: 1) Unfortunately, none of the dishes I tried tasted good or felt remotely "modern" or even authentically Mexican. 2) The corn in the elote was overcooked, mushy, and excessively coated in chili powder. 3) All the proteins we sampled were overcooked—either dried out or mushy from being in the slow cooker too long—lacking flavor and overly salty. 4) The beans tasted straight out of a can, with no flavor at all. 5) The raw onions were chopped into large pieces, making them awkward to eat with smaller dishes like tostadas and tacos.
I've experienced some of the best—and even the worst—Mexican food around the world, and it’s rare for me to leave most of an expensive meal uneaten, but that was my experience at Vivir. I couldn't finish my meal due to its poor quality and taste. My guess is that people come here for the fun drinks and ambiance. If you’re looking for quality Mexican food in Findlay, I recommend heading over to Cancún."
