"I made a booking for 7 people and requested a seating spot via opentable (Room 3 the day before our reservation. We arrived and were told that we have to sit in the lobby at circular tables set for 4. One of our party literally held their plate in their lap to eat their main course. The staff did nothing to help, but said we could sit at two separate tables in the lobby. I had to bring over a chair for us to squeeze in and they initially told us we could not do that. The phone system wasn 't set up for me to speak with the host in advance (no phones??? . I tried to call and talked to the hotel front desk who relayed a message about our timing. They knew that we were coming with a party of 7 45 minutes in advance. Had I spoken to the host or a manager I would have understood their issues and made other plans they certainly could have called me by looking at their reservation system to see we were a party of 7 that they accepted (I booked it a full day in advance . The food was good and the servers were good, but the management, their system, the seating, lack of phones, and the hosting was very bad. No one even tried to help or do something when we spent $500 on our combined meal. No apology, no free dessert, no nothing...take our money and goodbye. Also a 20% service charge was added to the bill, but didn 't list it as a gratuity or tip, simply an open service charge . Be clear on what people are paying for, otherwise people will make mistakes when tipping. I didn 't argue the tip cause it wasn 't the staff 's fault, but this was a very bad overall experience and the host, manager, or ownership should have done something not even an apology for having to sit outside of the restaurant and struggle to eat comfortably. We dine out a lot, at least 3/4 nights a week and I rarely write reviews, but this was truly poor form."
