"Let me start off by saying that this review is only about the pizza. In 30 yrs of coming here, I've never tried anything else on the menu. I'm also NOT a pizza guy. I'll eat it in a pinch, but rarely ever go out of my way to grab a pie. Marra's is an exception! I enjoy eating this pizza! The secret is in the crust. It's light, it's crispy and it's flavorful! If you like those soft, doughy crusts that have no character or taste, this isn't for you! The toppings are also fresh and flavorful with everything coming together. It's also the best pie I've ever had for reheating in a toaster oven. Just as crispy and flavorful a couple days later as it was the first. Arguably the best pie place in South Philly and one of my 3 all time favorites. The dining area has a cozy, old school restaurant feel that you rarely find anywhere else these days. So why only 4 stars instead of 5? It's the price. Mara's was always a little more than other pizzerias, but these days they're about $11 more than my all time favorite, Tony's Place. But if you're in South Philadelphia and have the taste pizza, you owe it to yourself to try Marra's. It might just redefine what you think pizza is supposed to taste like."
