"Excellent service this evening at Portillo’s! The Champaign site is my favorite place of everything and continues to fail me! The guy who took our order was extremely friendly, but he misunderstood our order. This was not a problem because the chefs could give us a piece of tomatoes that was missed with a smile! These people work hard and seem to be – they definitely deserve a celebration, because this is the customer service that all companies should strive for!!"

"During my first visit to Chicago, I had to try the famous Chicago-style hot dog. Based on what I’d heard and seen around the city, Portillo's was the place to go. The atmosphere inside is really vibrant; there’s something new to see every moment. The place is quite large and moves quickly. Although there was a long line and no seating available, we managed to get our food and find a table in no time. The price for the delicious hot dog was reasonable too. In the photo, you can see the Jumbo version, which I would highly recommend!"

"Went inside for order sign said 10-15 min wait. Was 45 min wait. In that time there were more customers who came in and those who were already waiting. One lady was there waiting for 40min. Crew gave her cold sausage. Gave her the warm one but did not add her mustard or onion. She waited and crew asked her 2 times within 10 mins again what went on her sausage. In this time the boy who took our order got off his shift and ordered food and walked out with his order while we were still waiting and the people before us were still waiting. Crew made sure his order was ready for him getting off his shift with fresh food but no one else. Girl who did salad was literally brain dead standing and starring poking around scraping salad off the counter into bowls and using them for orders. Lady who filled pickles took a pickle out and ate it with her bare hand in front of all customers. Finally got our order because we came up with ticket asking where it was. Didn?t have cake but charged us for cake when we ordered. Literally the worst service I?ve ever experienced. Staff crew members where lazy and not attentive. Fed the staff their food before taking care of waiting orders. Did orders wrong over and over with several customers drinks and food and order handled where crossed with great contamination. Really bummed about this.. won?t ever go again."

"I was told that if I ever came to the Chicago area I HAD to try Portillo's, I'm SO GLAD I did because it was one of the best places from our visit. I had the Italian beefs and sausage sandwich (with cheese and both kinds of peppers) along with a jumbo dog (grilled onions no tomato), fries and a drink. I honestly thought I'd just be getting another all beef Kirkland hot dog with some stuff on top, but that's not what I got AT ALL. I don't know what they do but that hot dog was perfect! I've had Italian beefs but not like this, It was LOADED with peppers and cheese and the sausage was perfectly cooked. I've had places really undercook their sausage and that ruins it, but NOT HERE! When I'm back in the area, I'm definitely going back here!"

"I absolutely loved this restaurant! We’re visiting from Washington State for the Supernatural Convention and my friend suggested Portillo’s, and it was outstanding! Alexsandar was hilarious, and so was Joe! You both enhanced our experience at Portillo’s significantly! The atmosphere was incredibly fun, with all the decorations and neon lights! The customer service was excellent, and the food was simply amazing! Please don’t ever change a thing!"

"Everyone recommended that I try Portillo's while I was in Illinois, and I'm so glad I did! I was thrilled to find veggie dogs on the menu, especially since I could get them Chicago-style—that was the best surprise! "The food is good but the staff that place food in the Pickup/Delivery do not pay attention. Twice now I've done the online order only to sit and wait 20m because they place the food in the delivery area not the pickup area. The food and I just sit needlessly until I go up and look over everything on every rack and row. Now the food is cold. "We went to dinner and used a gift card we had received. The propulsion staff said we could not use because they had switched banks etc. I asked for management. Chris the manager came in our car in cold pouring rain and explained the same, but excused and took our tab! The food was great and the staff was nice, but the manager went beyond and beyond! "Great place to hung out and grab some bites with friends and family. Staff was amazing and saw to it that my friends and I were sorted out and comfortable. "portillo’s has always been a place of high quality food. pasta: love it, hot dogs: ingenious, burger: excellent, etc., however, the wobble rings are a complete foaming. Why was that they say? because when you pass the incredibly crispy outside, the woof is thin. maybe even less than paper thin. wobbles were always one of my favorites and I had much so thought I have a reasonably good idea of a quality wobbles ring when I see it. I often had portillos wobbles and it's always the same through wobble. if they don't mind giving up their money, what I call on onions-flameed-bread-crumm rings, they'll go for it. if she 've a taste for real wobble rings, I can respectfully suggest popeyes on rt 64 59. Yeah, I get the family size for me. they are great. most popeyes do they not so enjoy them while they can. portillo has many good options for eating, bevelling rings are not one of them."

"Portillo's surpasses Five Guys by a long shot! The toppings on their burgers and hot dogs are incredibly fresh, setting them apart from other burger places in the area. The grilled flavor is fantastic, and the fries are excellent as well. Honestly, if Portillo's expands nationally, it could easily overshadow the competition. The staff was exceptional; my wife noticed it immediately! She was really impressed with the woman who took our orders, as she had such a pleasant demeanor—it was truly refreshing. The young man who cleaned our table was very meticulous, ensuring it was thoroughly disinfected from top to bottom. I must say, that's quite rare even in this COVID-19 era. We also ordered a whole chocolate cake for a retirement party on Zoom, and it was absolutely delicious!"

"This is my favorite place to eat when I visit Peoria. There was one time when my Hot Dog was cold, but that was years ago. I can honestly say I haven't a bad experience since then. I want to try something new whenever I go, but I always end up getting a Burger or Chicago Dogs. Burgers are charred and very tasty. Chicago Dogs are outstanding! Found the cake to be over -rated but that could have been a bad day. We all have them. Nevertheless I highly recommend Portillo's. Looking forward to my next visit. God Bless!"

"Upon arriving at Portillo's, we were welcomed by vibrant vintage jazz music that set a delightful mood for our dining experience. This has become one of my favorite restaurant settings, adorned with distinctive vintage decor on the walls. Today, I ordered a chili dog and the #3 combo, which includes a cheeseburger, fries, and a soda. I shared this feast with my husband, and everything was absolutely delicious! I especially loved the fries. The burger was huge, and the chili dog was packed with fantastic flavor. My only suggestion—applicable not just to today’s meal but to Portillo’s overall—is that I find their rolls a tad too soft in comparison to the heartiness of the meats. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal, and the staff was friendly too. Naturally, we couldn't resist finishing off with the chocolate cake shake, which is definitely worth the trip on its own. Amazing!"

"Service was terrible which is really weird because they have Soo many people working there, my order was ready but they never called my number i was standing there for almost 10 minutes until I approached the counter to check my order... it wassitting there, the same bag I saw them place there 10 minutes earlier... Now for the food..we ordered chicken tenders combo,chicken tenders were pretty decent size but unfortunately we're bland no flavor, french fries on the other hand were cookedperfectly and tasted great. Then ordered two different chili dogs One skinless one with skin and I honestly could not tastethe difference between portillo's and wienerschnitzel... (I'm sorry but do these chilli cheese dogs look appetizing in myphotos?, to make matters worse they placed them upside down in my bag) But I definitely noticed the price after everything wassaid and done it came out to almost $25.00 One other thing that was pretty disappointing was as my kids I went to wash ourhands The men's restroom had such strong smell of urine that we walked rite out used our own hand sanitizer...Nobody thereseemed to care or wanted to clean it.. so it's probably safe to say our family won't be patronizing this establishment anytimesoon again."

"Takes too long. 17 minutes from the time of order to receiving food. It just looked like absolute chaos behind the counter with everyone literally running around, bags with orders attached to them being thrown all over the place, orders being called in no particular order even though the sign said “orders will be called in order.” We were order 284 and I listened as orders 295 and 310 were called out before us. Every order ahead of us received theirs on a special tray with drink holders. My order had 3 bags and 2 drinks but they gave me no tray. I was tempted to go sit down and wait for our order to be called since they were calling them out over the loud speaker, but I’m glad I didn’t because for some reason, our order was the only order they didn’t call out over the speaker and I would have missed it. Food was pretty good. Don’t need to go back."

"My husband is a truck driver and his company is around the corner. Our truck was getting an oil change and we needed some lunch. Had never been to Portillos before. It was delicious! We ended up with 3 Chicago dogs and they were amazing! Finally a place that puts enough mustard on lol. They have a fast ordering service. Their onion rings small is large! Fries were great! I went back and got a chocolate cake shake, it was awesome!!! It's different but it's good! It's just what it sounds like. If you like to eat the melty ice cream on your plate that has peices of cake in it when eating cake and Ice cream, then you'll like it. It doesn't get soggy cause cake doesn't get soggy it just mixes together. Place was clean and people were friendly. Free refills on drinks too just go up and ask at the pickup area. Can't wait to go back. For .99 you can get a little cup of yellow cheese to dip fries in or onion rings, hot dog whatever you want!"

"This locations night crew is horrible. We came through the drive thru over an hour before they close. After the drive thru employee repeated our order we corrected her that we did not want onions on our order, she had an extremely rude response. After getting to the window and getting our receipt we saw that the request was not put on the receipt. So before the drive thru employee handed us the food we once again asked if they put onions on the food. She replied yes and that she would have them fix it. She walked away from the window with our bag and returned with the food. We drove off and checked and there were onions, so she had literally just handed us back the same bag with no correction. After going back inside the store we got the order corrected finally. We left and once we got home we noticed that our shakes had not been blended. This restaurant is not cheap! And they failed to the simplest task. The employees working the windows need a lesson on customer service. We love Portillos. But save yourself from visiting this location. Ridiculous!"

"This was my first time eating at Portillo's and I was looking forward to it having heard many good things online about the cake shake and Italian beef. Overall I'm going to have to give it another try but not this restaurant in particular.The food was pretty darn good overall. My fries were crispy and the sandwiches were hearty and well prepared. BUT, the shake machine was down which was almost the entire reason I wanted to try this place and the guy taking my order, Anthony, clearly didn't want to be there and when I asked further questions about the status of the shake machine, I was met with a healthy dose of sarcasm. The guy behind the bar also looked dazed and confused most of the time we were there.Overall a bit salty I wasn't able to try a cake shake and left feeling a bit cheated by low quality service."
