"Best dining in the Carolinas. Each time we return to Herons, we're delighted by the thoughtful service, the attentive staff, and most importantly, the stunning, flavorful food. This week, we came back for their Art Tour Tasting menu, which paired each course (between 8 and 15) with a printed photograph of the artwork that inspired it. We enjoyed some of the same courses that delighted us last year such as the colorful canapés and were blown away by the chef's most recent addition of crab. Our favorite course? The quail. If you're a fine dining enthusiast, you will not be disappointed. If you're a bit shy about fine dining, you won't be intimidated: each course is carefully explained and the eating experience is intuitive, while also being artful. It's an experience! Be prepared to enjoy your meal over the course of a few hours. Pro Tip: Come for dinner and go light on lunch beforehand."
