"Usually I really love The Copper Onion, but I had one of the worst lunches I have ever had today. I hate to spend money on horrible experiences, so I am writing this in hopes that they get better. The server obviously forgot to put our order in as we saw many people order, eat, and leave before we ever got our appetizer, so that was frustrating because we stopped in for a quick lunch. She ran over and said sorry the food was taking so long, but I have worked in this industry, so it was obvious that she or the kitchen overlooked the order. We were sat in the far northwest corner of the restaurant which was fine until they sat a party of 4 next to us and I felt like I was watching the 4 of them eat since I was facing them, fairly uncomfortable. All the other tables were open at that point, but for some reason they put them right next to us. We ordered the fried artichoke hearts... some were prickly and their oil wasn't turned up high enough because they were soaked in it. I also ordered a goat cheese salad with chicken... the goat cheese was cooked properly, but the lettuce was swimming in dressing and the chicken had a spice that resembled dill pickles... off putting with goat cheese. Just a thought: Goat cheese balances well with something sweet... port soaked cherries, apples etc... the salad is so basic and then pairing with that spice on the chicken was awful. Sometimes restaurants do so well for quite a while, then they get too comfortable and everything starts to take a turn for the worst. Hopefully this bad experience was just a one off... we will see."

"I've had two dinners at Dusek's; one was great, one was a little less than meh. The food was fine. It was a pretty quiet night after the holidays, and the restaurant had only three other tables seated for most of our meal. The music was too loud for the empty room, and mostly didn't match the mood of the quiet night. Too headbangy sometimes, but whatevs. The food was fine, though not as good as I remember. The butter cake was sublime, though. But there was a gaffe. A big one. We were four for dinner and things were fine but for the bad music. After 3 starters, they came out with entrees...most entrees. Sadly, one was missing. (Thankfully, it was mine missing, which I prefer to having it happen to the birthday girl or other guests. It took more a minute to come out. IT TOOK FIVE MINUTES TO COME OUT. For five minutes, they had to choose between letting their food get cold, or eating in front of me. Unforgivable . Stupid freshman gaffe. Nor did anyone offer special apology. At minimum, a manager should have shown up. And since I'm on it, don't ask me the occasion if you don't want to say Happy Birthday, or put a candle on her slice of cake. Clumsy. Unsophisticated. That's okay at a burger joint, but not for a $300 check. (Lucky for them, I didn't pay the bill. It was me that chose the venue. I won't be back. Management should monitor the kitchen. Management should monitor the atmosphere. Manager should know when guest are dealt some pretty tacky service."

"How is this place still open? I was really hoping this would be a good experience but from the minute we walked in, it slid down hill quickly. I took my mom and son there for mother’sday brunch. My mom walks with a cane, the hostess asked if we wanted to go upstairs. We were seated quickly. I travel for work and am always in restaurants and the level of bad service from the waiter was one of the worst I have experienced in a long time. He was uncaring, didn’t explain anything and it was as if he expected us to know the menu. He was unattentive and his manner was off putting. Really, St. George train better. The first course came and went the server never checked in. The old fashions were brought out, they were watery and muddled. Who muddles oranges for an old fashioned?! They were awful. The salads were just lettuce, I found one onion piece, for what you pay, do better. The steak frites was a good portion, steak cooked well but the peeper sauce was weak and the fries soggy. Back to the horrible waiter, didn’t get his name but the attitude was palpable and I overheard him speaking in Spanish to the other waiters complaining about other diners. Really, all round not worth the almost $250 check for price fixe that does not include a dessert. Go to a steakhouse, there a few good ones in the area. As we left I commented how the restaurant was not a good value or place. A couple walking overheard and laughed and said, “ yeah we went there once and never again. Same complaints…"
