"Supposedly some of the noodle dishes can be made vegan, but we just had the sushi. There is a variety of vegan sushi available avocado, cucumber, various mixed veggies, fried tofu, etc. The vegan sushi was quite good. Tamari is also available. The owner recently revamped the menu to make it more vegan and vegetarian friendly. We were told the miso soup was vegan, but it might be a good idea to verify this yourself."

"This place used to serve generously portioned nigiri sushi and maki rolls and seriously delicious sushi. This restaurant was staple for me even with the price increase by 30 35% after the new owner took over. I’ve been a devoted customer for 15 years. However some months ago this year, they started skimping on the size of the sushi The fish on top of the Negri sushi is 30% smaller than it used to be, in the maki rolls are 40% smaller than it used to be. Earlier this year, we left feeling full after spending $110 for 2 people , and today we left hungry after spending $130 for 2.You have lost a devoted customer with your significant portion size reduction, and I will not be coming back!"

"I felt scammed by the sushi chef and owner. I have dined in several highly rated sushi restaurants in most every major US city over the last 20 years. I have also dined in a lot of small, basic local sushi restaurants. Sushi Sho was by far the worst even compared to my experience in lower end restaurants where I expected nothing special. All I can say to the over the top reviewers on Open Table is that you have not yet really experienced good sushi. With the exception of the Hamachi sashimi, I found most of the fish to be second rate. The chef/owner clearly does not source top (higher cost) fish. And his prices exceeded what we received. Most importantly, the overbearing chef would not leave the 8 people at the sushi bar alone a self designated mentor to his guests. Well some of us just want to enjoy our food. I am an American who enjoys authentic Japanese food. That said, I don 't appreciate being told to use my fingers instead of chop sticks. And I don 't appreciate having the chef debate with me while I enjoy my food the way I want to enjoy it. He was downright oppressive. We felt trapped for over 2 hours while the chef made his rounds around the sushi bar holding court with lectures on the right way to eat and the right way to enjoy his mediocre fish. This resulted in significant delays receiving fish mere morsels at a time. Never again."

"The staff at the restaurant were lovely and friendly. However, our chef seemed to lack skill, as the food was disappointing. He accidentally dropped two eggs with shells into our fried rice. While the staff were all very nice, the food definitely needs improvement. Additionally, the restaurant could benefit from better air filtration or ventilation, as it was quite smoky inside. We also experienced a wait of about an hour, even though the host had told us it would only be a 15-minute wait. It wasn't due to a long line; it seemed that the chef was taking a break and we were left waiting."

"The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend who lives near by. We were not disappointed. Thought the place is small and lacks decor, the quality of the food and the friendly owners make up for it. There were 10 of us and we filled up 90% of the seating, the place can seat up to 14. The shop owner is also the sushi chef, and his wife helps w the kitchen. The food did took a while to come since the owner and his wife were the only ones at the shop. But trust me it’s worth it. Every dish tasted fresh and well prepared. We had yellowtail special and sushi for 2, The raw fish was fresh, and just the right proportion of rice to fish. We also had the eel roll that was just as good. The pork chop egg over rice was over flown w meat, teriyaki chicken on sizzle platter was a good follow up to the sushi. The chef gave us a free tasting of his sushi creations, it’s cucumber roll with various filling, delicious!!! A definite gem tucked away, most try if you are in the neighborhoodz"

"After many others had suggested this spot to us, we finally gave it a shot one night when my parents (now grandparents to our 1yr old) came into town and we were fully impressed! Our server, Jeremiah, was already providing world class accommodation despite his young age and has a clear future in hospitality with a charismatic friendliness and unwavering confidence, even when confronted with our 1yr old little rascal.The Smoked Toro was absolutely stunning (get it early and SAVE THE SMOKED SOY SAUCE), if unarguably a bit expensive for so small a plate. It was still delightful and impressive enough to order again!The bang bang shrimp were a winner starter, and the Channel Replica was easily our favorite sushi roll with lots of wonderful textures and layers of flavor that were even more pronounced with some leftover smoked soy sauce from the Smoked Toro. Doesn't hurt that it's a beauty to behold!Desert was also impressive: a thick, crispy Korean pancake (with what we think were bits of apple) wonderfully chewy, adorned with cinnamon, ice cream, and a strawberry ??
