"Our best new place to dine and enjoy authentic Italian dishes... And we met the son of the owner last evening as he was filling in as a bar back for the night! Great young man who knew and appreciated all the joys and pitfalls of the profession.... The fact that he was there to fill in at any position was a joy to see, and I am sure his colleagues appreciated his pitching in and working hard... The food is excellent, well prepared, and presented. We do sit at the bar generally when we dine, and that provides another insight into the operation of a restaurant.... "We have been going to Modo Mio for 10 plus years and always had a fine meal and friendly service. On our recent experience, the host tried to seat us between two tables that did not allow for any room to really dine in comfort. We did not want to dine outside because it was rather cool and the host said we should have specified our desires on our reservation. That particular table remained unoccupied for the entire time. We asked to see the manager and he accommodated us at a satisfactory table snd was quite apologetic and agreed it was an unsatisfactory attitude on the part of the host.notwithstanding the blip on seating, the food and service was great."

"eating was excellent as always, but the service was disappointing. we were 2 of only 4 people at the bar and no tables were occupied in the restaurant. had to ask barkeepers for menus, had to order an appetizer, had to order suppe and asked to order entrees. as if an extra-service employee of one of the 2 other people in the bar. many interactions between him and the bartender. I was disappointed by service."

"have long been looking forward to this visit, with extra-city guests. the reservation is made and the confirmation has been confirmed 24 hours before. I have the restaurant, it was closed as in locked tight, no one available. you tried to call, you didn't get any answer. went online to check the website was after bento box with a 'uh oh, something is wrong with this website' ... also checked the parent location in nyc apparently closed permanently. I send huge kudos to open table to respond to my concerns in very professional way."

"Let’s start with the good one: food was excellent and the restaurant is nice. However I strongly disliked how the menu was presented. About half of the items carry no price and called “specials” but given the long list they are not just the “catch of the day”. I found it on top upsetting that while the soups on the regular menu are priced at $14 or so, the unpriced “special” comes at $29. I also found the wine overpriced with a 3 times mark up compared to street price while the hospitality industry price is already way below that. Nevertheless we had a nice dinner."
