"A solid Chinese spot specializing in steamed dishes.Intrigued by their steamed dish specialties, I recently took a visit. Nestled behind an old-fashioned façade was a clean and modern interior. I decided to order the Steamed Sliced Sole Fillet with Chili, Mushroom Shumai, and Mao’s Red Braised Pork. While the plating was certainly more refined than what you'd typically find at a Chinese restaurant, the flavors leaned towards the conventional. The Red Braised Pork, though tender, could have benefitted from a richer flavor profile. The Mushroom Shumai, although steamed, seemed rather dry on the inside, which was a bit of a letdown. The standout dish, however, was the Steamed Sliced Sole Fillet with Chili. Though heavily seasoned with spices, the fillet boasted a pleasantly chewy texture. Since our server didn't enquire about our preferred spice level, its spice was much more overpowering than I expected. Despite the heat, small bites of this dish were enjoyable and arguably the best of the lot.Overall, a respectable take on Chinese cuisine, with a good emphasis on steamed plates. The place brings together decent value, solid food quality, and a modern atmosphere in an unassuming package."
