"This is THE best dining experience I have EVER had in Astoria. The drinks were amazing (If you want to try something sweet and experimental get The Red Planet), appetizer (Brie with honey, figs, and mini toasts) was stunning. I got the beautifully plated roasted squash which had a phenomenal peanut butter sauce and toasted pumpkin seeds and boyfriend got the roasted pork dish which he said was the best he’s ever had (I tried a bite and couldn’t argue it was so tender and flavorful). Finished the night with the Mars bar dessert which was the perfect amount to split it was a fudge like dream, with candied thyme on top! Every plate and drink was so wonderfully curated in taste and aesthetic. My tastebuds went on the ride of their lives. We savored every bite and sip. I don’t write many reviews but this if you want a fantastic dining experience this is it. Plates are smaller, but the quality that your getting is beyond compare we left content without feeling overly full as often happens when going out. The service was also fantastic as well! Can’t wait to come back."

"I've been to Barrel twice for brunch and once for happy hour. Each time enjoyed myself. For brunch, I've gotten the waffle with a side of eggs and the honey chicken biscuit. Both were good. The chicken biscuit comes with potato chips but the only con is you can't really substitute the chips for anything like the home fries. But let's get to the best part of brunch, the unlimited mimosas! The unlimited option comes with a decanter of orange juice and cranberry juice, as well as a peach syrup. They bring a bottle of champagne on ice and you can make your mimosas how you like, which is my favorite part.They also have an awesome bourbon and whiskey selection. I've been for happy hour too and had a nice time. I love bourbon so it's nice to go somewhere with so many options. The service this past weekend was great and we had a good time. Overall, barrel is a solid choice for brunch and for drinks."

"Apart from the fact that the derby still from the crazy busy month of October, and that many things we wanted to order were not on camp, we had still a wonderful meal in the derby. the waitress was helpful to get us alternative drinks and eat, and everything we had fun and enjoyed eating and enjoying the atmosphere."

"We made reservations an hour before we arrived in Salem. When we walked in, most of the tables and all of the outside dining was empty. That should have clued us in to the type of meal we would get. We chose to continue. The waitress was lackluster at best. They did accommodate our group of 6 by putting 2 tables together but as the entire restaurant only had a few people I’d have been surprised if they hadn’t. The tavern only had a few entrees but we did select the tots from the appetizer menu. It was the only thing we enjoyed. The chicken pasta was fatty and chewy. My daughter’s cheeseburger kids meal had so much grease dripping off of it the bottom bun was soaked. The meat on my husband’s burger looked undercooked in some places and dry in others. It was fairly confusing! We ended up leaving fairly soon after getting our food. They did remove my daughter’s meal but we (the 4 adults) all left dissatisfied as well. We finally asked for the check and while our server got it to us fairly quickly, she left and didn’t come back. It seemed that with so many empty tables, the servers and hostess all were chatting it up in the front. We just left cash on the table and walked out. : We’re now off to order pizza in our hotel while the kids swim. For a $95 dollar meal, it sure feels like we were ripped off."

"We had a reservation and were seated at 11:30, but the service was incredibly slow. We didn’t receive our food until 12:40. I ordered poached eggs, but they were hard boiled instead. I also ordered a burger topped with an egg, but the egg was cold and tasted rubbery. I wouldn't recommend this place until they improve their kitchen staff and service."

"Ok why did I JUST discover this gem of a bar?! Located in Avenue C, The Lost Lady is a vibe. The perfect pregame dinner spot if you're looking for a casual (can get wild) night. I went last night on a Friday and the prices were great. If you go on Friday, look for Kristie, she's the best server ever!!!!! So friendly and fun. I really liked the colada drink (twas strong but delicious) and some other red slushy drink (forget the name but ask for it). I am definitely coming back here and y'all should too. The tacos and cheese burger was on point. Places like this exist in the city!!!"

"We went for the miracle bar, and the drinks were terrible. We tried almost every drink, and none of us (a group of 8) weren’t impressed. There were two that were decent but we left most drinks unfinished which wasn’t ideal when they are $15+. Service was amazing. I did expect the decor to be a little better and it seems as if they did way less this year compared to previous years. It wasn’t worth the hype."

"We had a fantastic experience at Freehand! During our 4-night stay, we had a room with a view of the road and the Empire State Building. While the traffic outside could be noisy at times, we found it added to the charm of New York City and had no trouble sleeping. The room was very clean, and we appreciated the daily cleaning service and fresh towels. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we had relaxing nights. The staff was friendly and helpful, even assisting us after our stay with a question about the occupancy tax. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, and we were able to leave our luggage for free on our last day to explore more of the city before heading to the airport. The location is perfect, with subway stations just minutes away. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Freehand!"

"I stopped in after getting less than stellar reception at a location around the corner. I let the host know I had limited time for a quick drink, as I was headed to a show. She was friendly, welcoming and I was handed a menu as soon as I sat down (not the case at the other place, which shall remain nameless). She introduced herself, gave me time to look over the menu. When I asked for bartender's choice of the Amaros (my reason for going to Billy Sunday: their fantastic Amaro selection and bartender knowledge), she asked a few questions about preferences and poured me a glass that did not disappoint. I also had a non-alcoholic drink, which was nicely flavored and very refreshing. Great prompt friendly and un-stuffy service. It's always a pleasure."
