"I happened upon this newly opened restaurant unexpectedly when returning from a doctors visit. It's in a rather shoddy looking strip mall right on commercial blvd north side. Even the building it's located in looks rundown from the outside; but once inside wow! everything is brand new from the many booths to the floor itself. My waiter was a nice gentleman in a freshly starched white shirt who gave my great service. I regret mentioning that I wrote reviews for Metro guide and am left wondering if everyone gets treated as nice. Not being familiar with Latin food other then Taco Bell I told the waiter I just wanted a light lunch and let him order for me. He suggested A Fuego Sandwich which he said was typical Mexican. Corn chips (a very large basket) were placed before me along with a dipping sauce. When I commented that I thought the sauce was rather mild he brought me a second one that almost knocked my socks off. Thank heaven he kept my iced tea filled at all times, The chips themselves were very fresh and between the two sauces very tasty. The sandwich had turkey, ham, Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato in it made with very fresh Cuban bread. I was there for lunch but the waiter tells me that they intend to have karaoke and also a Mexican guitarist there in the evening roaming around the tables within a month or so. I wish I lived closer, but I fully intend to come back in a few weeks to experience the whole works. my meal excluding tip was $8.00. Heck, I could have filled up on just the chips and iced tea and it still would have been worth it. Reading they're menu they also provide for kids, with chicken fingers $4.95-fish fingers $5.95 and a few other items they also have a short wine list, and a good size dessert list, but I was just too filled to try anything else. I think if you try this little gem of an eatery you will enjoy yourself and think it well worth the trip."

"After waiting over an hour, the manager finally brought our drinks: one on-the-rocks margarita and a semi-frozen margarita. I noticed our waiter serving entrees to another table that had arrived well after us, which tested my patience. When the waiter caught my glance, he turned and casually asked if we were ready to place our order. At that moment, we decided we’d had enough and requested our check along with the manager. When she arrived, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the service and mentioned how we had seen another table being served shortly after they arrived. The manager sincerely apologized and offered to cover the cost of our nachos to make amends. Despite adding beef for an extra $3.00 on top of the nachos, which cost $8.99, we hardly touched them because they were greasy and unappetizing. While she covered the nachos, we still paid over $40 for our drinks and the additional $3 for the beef. Although the restaurant was crowded, the manager walked us to the exit, repeatedly apologizing and almost clinging to us as we left, urging us to return soon. This place held special memories for my mother and me, filled with laughter, giant frozen margaritas with salt on the rim, and a plate of “crazy nachos” accompanied by great service. My mother passed away on Memorial Day in 2005, and nearly 20 years later, I still miss her deeply, which is why I wanted to return to El Phoenix—the special place we shared. From this experience, I realized two things: 1. You can’t go back, and 2. Customer service seems to be a thing of the past. However, I found the opposite to be true at Red Lobster on Hwy 26 in North Richland Hills, where we had the BEST servers! She was cheerful, friendly, and went out of her way to ensure we felt comfortable and valued. Our visit there was a delightful experience, complete with excellent service and delicious food, all in a great atmosphere!"
