"I had a disappointing experience during my recent visit. The restaurant and bar were almost empty on a lovely late Sunday afternoon, which made it even more surprising. I was really let down by the absence of ingredients needed for at least three of their signature pizzas. I ended up not getting what I wanted but tried to make the best of it. Unfortunately, the two pizzas my family ordered were undercooked, with the cheese still in its shredded form in the center. As a Detroiter, I'm familiar with the style, and having dined at both ES locations in Charlotte several times before with great experiences, I expected better. This visit was definitely not their best showing. It was frustrating, especially since I was looking forward to a nice meal before a show in uptown. Since there isn't an ES near my home, I only get the chance to visit occasionally. P.S. The draft beer was lukewarm, so we switched to canned beer."
