"eating was very good! the host who sat us was so helpful to explain his ordering process, it is all done on their handy. service was good and our server were very attentive. my friend and I hadn't seen us for months, and because the terrace wasn't crowded, we stayed up and just enjoy any other company. it was hot and damp with a small brise and after two refills on our water they cut us off. we had paid our register card, so I think they didn't want to be harassed by us anymore. the restaurant was not busy, it was about 1:30, and no amount, so I am not sure why a refill was on our water. I recommend this place, but try not to overlay her welcome I got a response to my review that I thought was very sincere. it is caught in the photos. so I added another star. next time I visit I'm sure I'll give it 5 stars"

"My friends and I had a mixed experience when we tried this place. It was busy the evening we went, but we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was friendly and refilled our drinks quickly, but was rather clumsy. She spilled the sauces that came with our appetizers and nearly spilled my dessert on me. The tempura and gyoza were great, really tasty. The sushi is TERRIFIC, really well made. I especially liked their dragon roll. I didn't like the soy sauce they serve, since it just tastes like really salty water rather than real soy sauce. The chicken katsu is nice (our waitress neglected to bring knives even though it's a pretty big chunk of chicken). The fried rice is AWFUL. I wouldn't recommend ordering it. It didn't have much flavor aside from a burnt, smoky taste from whatever they cook it in. The desserts were pretty good. The mochi is nice, and the strawberry cheesecake is really yummy. The fried green tea ice cream didn't really suit my tastes. The fried exterior became soggy quickly and tasted very strange paired with the ice cream. Green tea ice cream is a favorite of mine, but this one had way too much matcha flavor. It was overpowering, almost bitter. Overall, the meal wasn't bad. Next time, I'll just get the sushi and apps, and skip dessert."

"We did the Valentine's Day special, the second time we've done it at DF, the first time at the CWE location. As with the first time, the experience was good, especially for a couple married 36 years and looking more for a good meal with good service at a good price than for a romantic evening for two. If you're looking for romantic evening for two, then DF is not the place. The close proximity to neighboring tables and the noise level are not conducive to romance. The food was great, the value was good, and the service was good despite a few hiccups (our entree arrived minutes after our appetizer but before our soup and salad). The menu description on line and on the menu itself was misleading about what your $119 bought you exactly. Luckily, the portions and the preparation made up for it."

They also have a well appointed bar with great liquors for high quality mixed drinks. A beautiful building and dining area, including a large open air dining patio that allows you to enjoy beautiful weather while eating. Well trained staff and servers provide you with an enjoyable experience and memorable meal. "This was my first visit to this restaurant while I was in St. Louis for business, and I was in the mood for some sushi. When I arrived, the restaurant was empty, so I took a seat at the sushi bar and ordered a Rainbow Roll and some combination fried rice. The fried rice was decent, but the sushi left much to be desired. The fish on the roll was quite scarce, and the overall appearance was underwhelming. The Rainbow Roll cost around $14.00, which isn't overly expensive for a well-prepared roll, but this one did not meet that standard. I won't be returning to this place on my next visit to St. Louis, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for good sushi in downtown."

"We enjoy The Union very much and stop in for dinner 2-3 times a month frequently asking friends and family to join us. We enjoy the menu and welcome the tweaks and changes to it as well. We especially enjoy it when Ken is our waiter. He has taken the time to remember us, our favorite foods and beverages and provides just the right amount of attention. I do have to note that frequently our food though very tasty and beautifully presented is served lukewarm with the exception of soup which is usually piping hot and delicious. Last Monday (Ken wasn't there) two of our guests sent their entrees back (spaghetti meatballs) as they were barely lukewarm and the restaurant seemed a bit shorthanded with some difficulty getting other items requested to the table. It was a Monday though a holiday and the restaurant was moderately busy. I hope this information is seen as helpful as it is not provided in a mean spirit. We appreciate all the good things The Union brings to the community."

"Last night, we drove from Johnstown to use a Groupon we received for Christmas at a restaurant we had never heard of. Despite its unassuming exterior, the place had a very inviting atmosphere inside, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. I enjoyed listening to 90's country music playing, which brought back nostalgic memories of riding in my Dad's old pickup truck as a child. My husband tried the all you can eat fish, which he found to be pretty good. We both particularly enjoyed the creamy coleslaw. I opted for the honey BBQ wings, and while the sauce was not the best I've had, the crispy skin made up for it. The portion size was decent, and I found it to be a satisfying meal. The service was excellent, with a laid back and friendly waiter. Unfortunately, we couldn't use our Groupon as it was only valid from 3-6, but we look forward to returning another day. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and we would happily visit again."
