"I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the biscuits and gravy from Joe's New York Diner. Starting with the chicken and waffles, the chicken was juicy, but the breading lacked flavor and seasoning. Unfortunately, the chicken was served directly on top of the waffle in the same container, which made the waffle greasy and soggy. While I don’t mind a bit of grease, a soggy waffle isn’t enjoyable. On the bright side, the waffle itself was flavorful—I just wish it had been served separately.
Now, the standout item from the menu was definitely the biscuits and gravy. As someone from West Virginia who has been searching for good sausage gravy since moving to Tampa over four years ago, I can confidently say that Joe's sausage gravy is the best I’ve found. If anyone knows other places with excellent, hearty sausage gravy, please let me know. Until then, Joe's has earned my loyalty for this dish."
