"We decided to order a mussel dish, but we were disappointed to receive only seven mussels, none of which opened. It's not really about whether they are safe to eat, but at an Italian restaurant, how are you supposed to open mussels in a pasta dish? To make matters worse, two of the mussels were cracked. My wife and I only noticed because a sharp, broken shell ended up in our pasta.
After this experience, we’re likely to choose Olive Garden for our next outing. It was a disappointing night, especially for a local anniversary celebration. We tried to make the best of it, but the waitress didn't offer to compensate us in any way. What kind of restaurant serves cracked mussels and so many closed ones? I'm not a culinary expert, but that just isn’t acceptable. It’s a shame that this local spot didn’t meet our expectations."
