"Our party arrived on time and our table was already setup with a RESERVED sign. The appetizer we ordered a sample platter with the most flavorful rolls. The entrees came out right after and they are all good. The only disappointment was we are so closed to the 22 Freeway, and the noise level is pretty loud. We wish they would let us go back inside soon. Thanks."

"Having eaten in pretty much every Japanese restaurant in Portland, Sapporo remains my go to place for sushi and other Japanese dishes. The fish is fresh and tasty, the rice is perfectly seasoned and cooked and the service is friendly and helpful I'd highly recommend it!"

"The atmosphere at Kitayama is truly exceptional. I've been going there since I was young and make it a point to visit the sushi bar at least once a month. The restaurant has been consistently updated, now featuring plush seating at the bar and a plasma TV. Victor, the bartender, creates the best cocktails. The waitresses still wear traditional kimonos, adding to the authentic experience. It might be on the pricier side, but it's definitely worth it."

"We had a fantastic evening celebrating our daughter's 21st birthday, just as we had hoped. Our intimate group of four felt like part of a larger celebration thanks to the lively atmosphere around us. The food was, as always, exceptional, showcasing the high standards of all the blue ribbon restaurants. I'm always amazed at how they maintain such consistency across so many locations. A special thanks to our server, who was absolutely perfect – I just wish I could remember her name!"

"I’m pleased to say, I don’t have to go into the City to experience an authentic taste of Japan. I had the Bento box lunch plate, with Karaage Chicken, not teriyaki!I wanted to try something new. Karaage is something I have never had before. The portion was generous and the chicken was juicy and tender with a spice and flavor that to me was unique.The description on the menu said “spicy” but it’s not hot, more of a gentle tangy taste. But not sweet! Very flavorful with a delicious dipping sauce on the side.Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. A nice selection of wines, beers and sake.I forgot to order Miso soup and California roll. I liked the house made cheese cake. Yet, I was disappointed that it wasn’t made with Anko or green tea ice cream or maybe even Japanese persimmon. Next time I visit I will try the beef Teriyaki and maybe some Udon."

"Very cute, boutique hotel that has individual type of cottages. There is an outdoor deck with seating which was great to use. They also leave two beach chairs which was great as the beach is right across the street!! Rooms are cute, with a little table and small kitchenette. The bathroom was super small and created an issue for where to put all the toiletries. We also didnt have a tv, which in the end actually made us talk to each other and read! There is also a pool but we were short on time due to a wedding but it looked really nice. I believe they had a little place to get food and drinks but we didnt get a chance to enjoy. I would definitely go back, I liked the ambiance and location."
