"I am a picky eater so I never venture out to far but I must say, this place was DELICIOUS! So much so I thought about having it again tonight! Date night for two with the hubby; We ordered a bottle of Mia Rose Wine; Pretty good, it is from Spain and sweet enough for my liking! We ordered Soup Dumplings; AMAZING!!!!!!! Literally the best thing I have had in a long time. For those of you who are like me and have no idea what half this food is- the soup dumplings have pork inside with a broth and ours were perfect! Dinner; 1 plate of Sweet and Sour Sesame Chicken and 1 plate of Orange Chicken; I have never had such delicious crispy chicken with a nice glazed sauce such as this. Chinese takeout has nothing on this place! The portions were an entire plate worth, so much that we took some home! Each plate comes with steamed rice and if you eat all your rice, they give you more! So a bottle of wine, an appetizer and 2 dinner plates with unlimited rice and enough food to take home was about $56.00 total. I have paid a lot more at a worse restaurant with mediocre food, 1 glass of wine, 1 beer and terrible service. We will definitely be making this a favorite date night place because the food was superb! Also- our waiter spoke pretty decent English and took the time to explain what was in each dish we asked about as best he could! I can always appreciate someone taking their time to make us feel good about eating there. YUMM!!!!"

"When the server finally did come over, he appeared rushed. We placed our orders for drinks, an appetizer, and dinner, but at no point did he ask us about spice levels, which is something I've always experienced at other Thai restaurants. After a 30-minute wait, our drinks, appetizer, and dinner all arrived at the same time. Again, it was not particularly busy, and I could see the other two boys standing around chatting. As for the food, it was just okay; it was extremely mild and lackluster for Thai cuisine. I've had spicier food at Panda Express than their curry and Pad Thai, which tasted like something you'd find at a retirement home. When the bill came, I noticed they took every opportunity to add surcharges. They included a 3% kitchen surcharge, calling it a tax, which I’m pretty sure isn’t legal. If you pay with a credit card, they add another 3%, but if you use a debit card, you can avoid that fee. However, I wouldn’t trust teenage boys with my PIN number, and they didn’t even have a portable payment system. The bar seemed busy, and the server spent extra time with the older regulars. Like many places in Hawaii Kai, the food was disappointing, the service inexperienced, and it felt like they were more focused on catering to regular customers rather than attracting new ones. I would recommend avoiding this place unless you're in the mood for bland, non-spicy Thai food that feels more suited for a retirement community."

"We arrived for a late lunch around 1:30pm and there was a waitlist to get in. Figured that is a good sign as the food must be good. It 's a small restaurant as is most restaurants in the area, so seating is limited particularly if you had a group, we had a group of 6 people. If there is a wait, you need to add your name and number of people in your party to the waitlist just inside of the front door to the right (no one will do it for you. I waited at the door for a few minutes waiting for an employee to add us to the list, finally someone told me that I had to write in my name myself). The wait overall wasn 't too long as there were bigger groups of people that left not long after I put my name down. After being seated, you scan the QR code on the table to see the menu and to order (each table 's QR code is specific to that table). Some of the food came out with the in a decent time, but the soups were the last to come out which is odd because usually they come out fairly fast at other Vietnamese restaurants. As for the taste of the food: 1. Thai Iced Tea 5/5 very good flavor 2. Lemongrass Chicken over Rice 4/5 too saucy 3. Lemongrass Filet Mignon over Rice 4/5 too saucy 4. Oxtail Pho 5/5 broth had good flavor, lots of meat 5. Bun Bo Hue 5/5 very good flavor, plenty of meat 6. Grilled Pork Bahn Mi 4/5 not enough meat, average flavor 7. Garlic Noodle 5/5 very good flavor 8. Grilled Duck Skink Skewers 5/5 very good flavor Overall, a decent Vietnamese restaurant. I have had better flavors at others at a cheaper price, but price of dishes are probably normal for the area. Something I didn 't like was that since we had a party of 6, a 20 something tip was added to our bill which to me is a little on the high side, however the wait staff were decently attentive and nice."
