"Recently, there was a Facebook post on the Gloucester 411 page complaining about the dismal food culture in the area. Admittedly, I found it hard to disagree..... outside of two exceptions YROC and Sal's! I visit Gloucester Point every few weeks. And each and every time I am in town, I make a point of ordering something from Sal's. The bottom line: the food is delicious. Whether you are getting one of Sal's phenomenal pizzas or one of their entrees, it is all good. I have genuine trouble deciding between the white and the margherita because both are so incredibly delicious and well executed. Earlier, I had mentioned entrees. Sal's pasta and manicotti? Divine. Do you want to taste something prepared and cooked with love? Try their calzone, panzerotti, or pasta. It is beyond delicious. End of story? Sal's is phenomenal. Whether you are getting a salad, pizza, or other delightful dish everything is simply fantastic."

"The food here is authentic, with all the kitchen and waitstaff hailing from Sicily. The Margherita pizza features a perfectly crisp crust paired with fresh homemade sauce. The handmade gnocchi is served with a delicious mushroom sauce and topped with pecorino Romano cheese, providing just the right amount of creaminess. The service is incredibly attentive, with the staff being highly responsive to every customer's needs. The sign is quite unassuming, with "Pizzeria" being the most prominent part, so it’s easy to overlook. If you're in Hayes, VA, be sure to input "Tony and Milena" into your GPS to avoid any confusion. I also want to mention that the restrooms are impeccably clean and well-maintained. Instead of paper towels, they offer rolled cloth ones in a basket, and there isn't a hint of unpleasant odor, which clearly reflects their attention to detail. This place is definitely worth the drive from Tabb, VA!"

"We really wanted to like this place as we are new to the area and reviews seemed good. Atmosphere was nice, but service was extremely lacking. Not even an attempt by the server to smile or be friendly. Sat at the bar and waited several minutes beforeeven being acknowledged, let alone offered a drink or menu. Actually never even given a menu and looked at it on their websiteinstead. Upon getting the bill, we realized the prices have gone up from what?s posted (and copyrighted as 2023). The chickensandwich is definitely not worth the menu price and was totally flavorless despite adding the sauce (up charge). The broccoliside was actually the best thing. The wings were decent as well but didn?t come with celery as advertised (and, standard forwings). Served the food after someone who came in way after us and with no utensils or napkins. They seem understaffed, which istotally understandable, but, there were enough bad things about our experience that we unfortunately will not be coming back."

"The staff here were friendly and welcoming, which made the entire experience much better! In contrast, the Subway closer to my home feels quite uninviting. Although the meat quality seems comparable, it often looks old and is sliced poorly, and the employees there are much less friendly. In moments like these, that personal touch really stands out. Perhaps the team at the nearby location could take a lesson from this one!"

"My wife hosted her baby shower at this restaurant recently. I ordered the oyster Rockefeller and my wife ordered the soup of the day for appetizers, but they never arrived. The waiter kept telling us they were almost ready, but after waiting over 30 minutes, our main meals were already coming out so we decided to cancel them. The waiter explained that there were issues with the line cooks causing delays, despite it not being busy that night. One of my wife's coworkers even received her to-go order before our main meals were served, causing frustration for all of us. When the manager finally came over to ask how our meal was, she seemed unaware of the situation and promised to resolve it, but nothing was done. We were not looking for compensation, but rather for the management to support their staff better. The food and drinks were great, but the kitchen could use some improvement and the management should be more present on the floor to address these issues. Several guests at the baby shower, including medical providers, were disappointed by the poor management and felt sorry for the staff."

"I was pleased with the food I received—it was warm and fresh, so I have no complaints there. I ordered two snack packs, each with three pieces of chicken and a biscuit, and the biscuits were also fresh. The only unusual experience I had was with the DoorDash driver. After he delivered the food, I noticed him walking back to his car when he suddenly stopped, turned around, unzipped his pants, and urinated on my lawn! I was left waiting for him to finish so I could go outside without it being awkward. I live in a somewhat secluded area, so he might have really needed to go. It was definitely strange, but I suppose sometimes you have to do what you have to do, especially since he knew someone was home. Aside from that incident, everything else went smoothly, and my delivery instructions were clear. Plus, my grass got an unexpected watering! Apologies for any typos—I'm writing this during my break. Overall, I had no major issues!"

"This review focuses primarily on the quantity, quality, and price of the food, rather than the service and ambiance of the restaurant. I usually order five or more items, while I tend to stick to just one, as I personally can't resist trying at least three or four different dishes. I like to mix and match flavors, almost creating a mini buffet to take home, and I can usually do this for under $20. I always leave feeling pleasantly full, with my taste buds satisfied, and I’m happy to have enough leftovers for two or three more meals the next day."
