"The place is beautiful and in a great location, but we were underwhelmed with the food, the plating, and the pieces of meat. I had a $50 grouper filet, and it came out a deep-fried fish stick with nothing on the plate but it. The filet mignon was a half inch thick and poorly butchered and came out on a giant plate by itself. Off the pan and on a plate. The bill was $200! We had a beer each. The tuna appetizer was ok, but the entire experience was not worth the money. Zero effort on the chefs part."

"We've been dining at Bentley for 35 years and have never had a complaint. Last night, we had family visiting from Denver, and they wanted to know where we thought the best steak by the lake could be found. Without hesitation, I recommended Bentley, which is truly extraordinary. I made a reservation, and we were lucky to get a great table with a window view. The busboy took some amazing pictures of us on the terrace. Bentley undoubtedly serves the best seafood and steak on the lake. The Porter is a must-try!"

"This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with an unbeatable view. The service was decent, but unfortunately, our salad was drenched in dressing, rendering it inedible. The Spinach Green Chili Jalapeño dip lacked any real heat from the peppers. While the pizzas were tasty, they seemed more like mass-produced fare than authentic cuisine. We also tried the baked Mostaccioli, which consisted of penne pasta smothered in a heavy meat sauce and cheese, with the cream sauce barely making an appearance. This left an overpowering taste of red sauce without any balance. Overall, I think it's a decent spot for families with kids or for picking up pizza for a group, but coming from New Jersey, I felt it didn't quite meet my expectations. I wouldn't choose to return."

"Even though we had to wait to have breakfast here, I would highly recommend. The staff was extremely friendly. I don't know if the gentleman that seated us was an owner or manager but he was very friendly and super nice. We had ordered and my great niece commented on how good the cinnamon roll looked and wished she had ordered one instead of her French toast), the man said if your grandma will let you I will buy one for you. And he did!! Food was fresh and good portions. The only drawback was the wait, but that was the clue that the place was worthwhile. Very much recommend. I will definitely be a repeat customer when I am at the Lake."

"This was our first Mexican restaurant moving to the lower 48 and it was fantastic! When I walked in and heard Spanish music, I knew it was a good sign! All the food is very authentic and flavorful that is not Americanized. My husband had the fajitas and they came out sizzling like they are supposed to and I had the chille relleno which was very tasty. The only complaint may be that the salsa was a little watery but it still had a lot of flavor. I definitely recommend this restaurant and will come back the next time I am in the Ozarks!"

"We had the best service! Our server was so fun and we had an over the top experience! We started off with some drinks and an appetizer. Our food came out and was cooked perfectly and extra condiments or brought and we weren’t charged for extras. Ilove it when you go out to a restaurant and your food doesn’t come out all at once. We were able to enjoy our appetizer andthen our food. We stayed a little longer because we were having such a great time and we took care of our server with an extrabig tip! This was our best dining experience at the lake this weekend! Great job and kudos to the management staff they evencame by to say hello to our table!"

"Convenient if you’re staying at the lodge but the food is just average. I had the seafood ravioli app, Mayflower salad, and the NY strip. App was decent, salad was a basic Caesar, steak was cooked as ordered, the entree sides were not great. Servers were polite but inexperienced and timid — e.g. asking constantly if I wanted my water refilled and asking whether to deliver our appetizer, salad and entree at the same time, forgot repeatedly to bring us the wine menu we asked for. The pre dinner cocktail was very bad. It seemed like they may have been missing a bartender though because I think we saw our server making the cocktail. Ordered a classic cocktail up, but it was delivered with heaps of ice, was the wrong color altogether and tasted very imbalanced. Probably wouldn’t go back. "A little disappointed, I ordered the meatballs, which tasted great, but came with 3 pieces of bread, when I asked for more bread, I was informed there was an extra charge, then I had to remind the waiter to bring it twice. My son ordered the sirloin steak rare, it was brought medium well, when we informed the waiter he took the steak and left the rest of the food on the plate??? So I should eat the sides cold when the steak arrives??? Just not what I was expecting...when a customer returns a steak you take the plate so you can keep all warm...the food was okay but not the way it was done"

"Have dined here for well over 40 years, including when it was located in the golf course building on highway HH. The turkey steak was one of my favorites. Previously, it was grilled, either in an overhead broiler, or an open charcoal/gas grill. When I received my dinner on this visit, the turkey steak was a pile of fried clump, supposedly the turkey steak. The fried mess was primarily fried batter with some turkey, less then one quarter of an inch thick. Inedible! The accompanying lyonnaise potatoes were disgusting, and the broccoli was cold. My wife had the seafood ravoli that was passable, and a disgustingly inedible sausage and pepperoni pizza. The room was cold requiring us to keep our coats and hats on. There were two employees in the large room, one a bartender and our waitress who doubled as the hostess when we aaarrived. A thoroughly disappointing experience and one that will ensure we will not dine there again."

"I've been here twice since I was close. Was either not busy, so the service was pretty fast. The food was as expected. One thing that bothered me was another Mcds, who would enjoy an apple cake, past the time. Not sure how long it is allowed to sit in the warmer, but I think at least 2-3 hours. And in order to still give a cake that 's an hour PAST of enjoyment with time, means a lot is over. C 'mon people, check times and make fresh if need."

She kindly took our drink order until our server could be found. Placed order. Server came back minutes later because she had forgotten to write down what I ordered and forgotten what it was. Had just a couple of minutes to eat salad before food arrived. My meal was not what I ordered despite server coming back earlier to confirm my order that she had forgotten earlier. Sat and waited for minutes after we finished eating for our server to be found again to remove plates and bring check. Food was okay but ambience ruined by service"

"We had high hopes given all the good reviews (and that they own the fresh bakery next door) but had an absolutely terrible experience/lunch here. My husband and I both ordered the beef philly cheese steaks and fries. The fries actually tasted like the potatoes were rotten and the philly cheese steaks weren't much better both the beef and the potatoes tasted like they had been thawed, refrozen, thawed then left for a few days. We both ate one fry each from our order and maybe 3 4 bites total from the sandwiches but could not finish them as they tasted actually bad. We literally left all the fries and 3/4 of each sandwich uneaten when the waitress came by and we expressed we thought the food was actually bad/not fresh. Now, she did ask if they could replace it with something else which was nice but we were actually worried at that point about eating anything here (and had visions of some of the scary Bar Rescue environments). We kindly declined her and asked for check shocked that she charged us full price we paid over 24. for really bad food which we didn't eat. We know it's a tourist trap area but really hoped for more. We wouldn't recommend. There is a Subway down the street a few miles."

"I absolutely love this local dive! The servers are incredible—especially Kylie, who is simply fabulous! She's sweet, funny, personable, and attentive, ensuring our large group was well taken care of with a smile throughout our visit. They have a DJ most nights, karaoke, and a jukebox, so there’s always music if you’re in the mood. Don’t let the appearance fool you; the food is fantastic! The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were delicious, and I really enjoyed the pizza. The blackened grouper was wonderful, and the Cajun pasta is genuinely award-winning and worth the trip by itself. The prices are great, and the portion sizes are generous. It’s a casual and fun spot, with a pool table and darts tucked in the back, plus a nice view of the lake."

"Where do I start? After waiting a few minutes for someone to acknowledge us, we were seated at a wobbly table. The fountain soda I ordered was flat, and the iced tea tasted stale. When I ordered the Caesar Salad, I was asked about the dressing I wanted. My husband requested a salad with bleu cheese dressing but was informed they were out, so he opted for ranch with bleu cheese crumbles instead. The salad arrived with Italian dressing and no crumbles. The romaine lettuce in my Caesar was chopped too small, making it difficult to enjoy. My husband liked his ribeye, while my scallops were decent; however, my son's shrimp Alfredo came with undercooked shrimp. Although we weren't charged for one meal, we were overcharged for the salads and one entrée. Overall, we won't be returning, nor will we recommend this restaurant."

"Best French toast I?ve ever had! The pictures don?t do this place justice. You?ve gotta see it and experience it in person. It was pretty busy (9:15am on a Sunday during bike fest). We were immediately greeted by Angela. She was friendly and informed usof the wait and seating options. The wait was about 1/2 hour for groups of four or more but my husband and I were able to snagsome FCFS seats at the bar. We opted for bar seating which was immediately available. Madison was our bartender and despitebeing very busy, Madison kept up with the crowd flawlessly. I had the French toast and ordered a side of bacon and a side ofhome fries. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, home fries, and a pancake. I also had hot tea and a mimosa. French toastused to be my favorite breakfast meal until I ordered it over and over at restaurants only to be disappointed. Other restaurantsoverdue the seasonings, don?t cook it properly and then load the top with thawed out fruit that drench the breeding and make itsoggy. I?m not sure what made me give it a try here but I did. Rusty Rooster sets the bar high. This was perfect. The homefries were the freshest, most delicately cooked potatoes with the perfect seasoning. There was just enough crisp without makingthese crunchy. Everything we ordered was perfect. Truly delicious. I?ve found my new favorite breakfast place. Can?t wait tocome back and try their lunch options."

"The chicken Alfredo was a bit pricey, and unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it at all. Despite adding a lot of salt and pepper, it still tasted very bland, and it didn’t come with any bread. The only dish I really liked was the Turkey Spinach Wrap with bacon, but it was also on the expensive side, especially since you have to pay an extra $2 for just a few small pieces of bacon. On a positive note, the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming."

There was no apology or any attempt to make it right, which left us feeling uncared for. As residents at the lake who dine at local establishments frequently, we regret to say that Encore has fallen to the bottom of our list."
