"It 's not often that a place hits 5 stars on everything but man....... from the start, walk up talk to the host , dude was nice and got us a table right away..... now I know some of you might think, yea whatever, you just got lucky and they weren 't busy . Not the case, host asked us if we were on a rush or if we could possibly finish in less then two hours. We are actually fast eaters and didn 't want to spend a lot of time there. The simple fact that they have a system in place for people like us sped up our seating (the table they had for us had a reservation two hours later). We get seated. From the start our server JAYLAN was courteous and helpful with the menu. We got our drinks. They were perfect and some of the best drinks I 've had in my life. I grew up in So Cal was into the bar scene hitting up all the good spots plus I 've been to a lot of places regions. Food. Jaylan recommended river rock beef. It was amazeballs. Perfectly seasoned, quality meat. Fast forward, we get all of our food. Everything was scrumptious and superb. Order more drinks all delicious. Service was amazingly fast considering how busy they were. We get the bill. I was prepared for a high one. NOPE!!! It was fair. You get what you pay for. Next time we 're in Omaha we will make it a point to go there."

"First, the restaurant is super cool. You enter and immediately see the open kitchen and bar below. We were seated with a great view of the working kitchen. It was our anniversary and they presented us with complimentary bubbly and a menu that read Happy Anniversary at the top. Our server was prompt and kind. We ordered apps and our meal at the same time. Apps were a little slow but we don 't mind taking our time. The andouille sausage over grits was good but a bit oversalted. The croquettes were good but somewhat mushy. Overall flavor profile was good. Some time passed after completing our appys and began to notice the kitchen plating dishes and entrees being served to every table except ours. Again, not in a hurry so we weren 't upset. But it became excessive. Large groups seated while we had appetizers were served their entrees. Small tables seated after we finished our appetizers were served. The kitchen can put out food fast, just not ours. So now our apps are expanding in our belly and our excitement about our meals are diminishing. Finally our entrees arrived. My snapper raw. So sad. The gnocchi was ok but again, way over salted. But the flavor profile was so good. This had the ability to be amazing. My husband ordered the wagyu flank steak. It was just not good. He barely ate one piece and left his sides as again they were way way over salted. Our server noticed that we barely ate our meals and spent time asking for feedback. She was very kind and the manager discounted my meal (which I did not want, but appreciate). Anyway, we probably won 't be back. Good presentations. Very good flavor profiles. Failure to deliver overall though due to extremely salty, improper cooking and extraordinary wait times. Hopefully they can improve as some other recent reviews reflect similar feedback."

"This was our first time visiting Plank, a party of 4, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was laid back yet elegant, and the food was amazing. Despite a packed dining area and bar, the service was exceptional. We highly recommend Plank and the surrounding area, which is very eclectic, fun, and safe. We will definitely be back when our team returns to the MCWS."

"We've had a gift card to J Gilberts forever and a day. Finally got the chance to use it. We were greeted promptly and taken to our table. Our server, Lorena was attentive and answered all our questions regarding cocktails and menu items. We decided to start with Calamari as an appetizer and that a great choice. By far the best calamari we have had. Dinner entrees were exceptional, my husband had the porkchop which was cooked to perfection. I had the rack of lamb which was not only delicious but also cooked perfectly. The only 2 things that were just not the best tasting with the rack of lamb were the spinach (too salty) and the mushroom risotto( very mushy and no flavor. The mushrooms should have been chopped). Can we talk dessert ... best carrot cake I've ever had. Our server, Lorena, made our dinning experience at J Gilberts very enjoyable. Best part of a good dinning experience is great service and Lorena did not disappoint."

"Especially very good food. But. The service was just terrible. We were there 30 minutes. Had ordered cocktails, apps and had our food for maybe 5 minutes when our waitress comes back to ask if we want a box? We deliberately said no and she went on to say our sum and ask if we pay with cash or card. I guess if you want the experience of a diner with very good Japanese food.... then this is your place."
