Love this gem of a dinner club. Love the history, the atmosphere and the delicious food! The staff is friendly and efficient. This quickly became my favorite place to have a romantic date night, or just a nice quiet dinner with friends. Meal type: Dinner

Thank you for your restaurant concept, we will truly miss you. A bright spot in the area—now will spend our in St. Charles, Geneva, Evanston and the city. We will miss the staff and management immensely. Good luck to each of you as you embark on new journeys. We hope that we will see many of you again.

The Anvil Club is a lovely restaurant that was previously exclusive to private club members, but has now opened up to the public since the lockdown. Although they still offer private wine lockers for members in the basement, this location has a cozy and romantic atmosphere, perfect for a nice dinner out. We recently had a wonderful wedding rehearsal dinner here for a small group of 12 to 15 people in one of their connecting rooms. The restaurant also featured a skilled piano player providing live music, adding to the ambiance. One suggestion for improvement would be to allow diners to make music requests after they have received their food, in order to reduce loud talking and enhance the mus...

We had heard about this restaurant when it was a private club, and we were surprised to learn that it was now open to the public after reading a story in the Chicago Tribune about its upcoming closure at the end of July. Despite making a reservation, our meal was good but not outstanding. The seasonal vegetable of the day was cauliflower, but one of the florets on my wife's plate was so large that she had to use her steak knife to cut it, only to discover that parts of it were black and going bad. The biggest disappointment, however, was the lack of service. We had to wait for our server to appear, for our drinks to arrive, and she even forgot to order our appetizer. Our server seemed to be...
