"My friends and I were looking forward to our meal at Gibsons, but the overall experience was just OK. We had a 7pm reservation but did not get seated until 7:45. It was busy there but this is unacceptable, and I was embarrassed because I had suggested going there. We each ordered a drink, appetizers, shared sides, and each of us got the 10 oz filet mignon. The mashed potatoes were beyond salty but the rest of the food was OK. Bottom line, though, is I have had better meals at half the price, and probably won't go back. The one bright spot was our sever, Diana, who was great."

"Waiter was not as attentive. We wanted another round of drinks but waiter kept passing us up. Fries were cold ! Filet mignon was not seasoned well and I had to keep adding salt and pepper. I really wanted to ask for steak sauce but I was afraid it would bother or take too long to get. I didn’t see the trio of martinis on the drink menu. The food menu options was not good. Not enough seafood or pasta options. I didn’t like that we were seated right the workers cash register was and it was very high traffic area."

"My daughter and I were frequent, longtime patrons of Cooper's Hawk in Downers Grove, IL. We dined there as often as 4 to 5 times per month. On September 29, 2023, we made a reservation for 1:15 pm at this location. We ordered what we usually start with an espresso martini for my daughter, and a bottle of sparking wine with two glasses for the two of us. The server, who also imparted that she had recently been promoted to a supervisor, delivered the bottle to the table with one glass only. When I questioned the server as to the whereabouts of the second glass, she stated that there was an Illinois law precluding diners from having more than one drink in front of them at the same time. She also informed me that she had told me about this policy when she served us in the past despite the fact that heretofore, she had complied with our request. When I questioned her inconsistency with regard to enforcing this rule , the server suggested that I speak with the manager, which I did. I told the manager that in all of the years, and of all of the servers that we had since patronizing this restaurant this overzealous server turned supervisor was the only waitperson that we ever had who cited and attempted to enforce this policy . I also pointed out to him that there were several tables around us at which the diners had four full glasses of wine per individual AT THE SAME TIME! (After all, it is a winery. I also asked the manager that if in fact this was a state law why was it not consistently enforced? Why were those diners allowed to have 4 drinks in front of them as the same time? Was this rule arbitrarily and selectively enforced at the manger's and server's discretion? The manager neglected to respond to my queries and contended that the server was correct. Appalled by the manager's and server's condescending and insulting treatment we left the restaurant. I complained to the Cooper's Hawk Corporate Office, and was informed by the director that the Downers Grove manager had made a substantial error, and had misinterpreted the Illinois law and the attempted enforcement of said. He apologized for the actions of the manager and the server as they had been incorrect. The director also assured me that the manager and the server would be taken to task for their egregious behavior, and for their errors in citing incorrect policy. I will not go to this restaurant again, because the manager of the Cooper's Hawk Downer's Grove location is not conversant with his company's own policies. He obviously does not value nor respect the loyalty of long time, frequent customers, as he made no attempt to assuage and retain this customer."

"Vinimos por mi cumpleaños de boyfrienda. Fue extremadamente decepcionante. La comida era horrible y cara. También hubo una selección limitada. La ensalada César era terrible y estaba llena de una lechuga amarilla que la hacía amarga. No había estado en el restaurante durante años y ha ido cuesta abajo significativamente. Estaba hablando con un conocido y él tenía la misma opinión. El servicio fue bueno pero lento. En realidad, el ayudante de camarero se olvidó de darle agua a uno de nosotros y cuando se la pedimos, discutió con nosotros y dijo que sí se la dio. Verdaderamente fue un desperdicio de agua pero lo más importante arruinó la celebración del cumpleaños."

"We thought they have good reviews and decided to try. However, if I am in my twenty’s I would give them a slight better review. After trying out lots of different foods in different price point, I don’t think they are worth 4 stars.First of all they sushi we order are very well cooked, I don’t except my salmon on top of the roll are fully cooked. Is that tailored to Chinese that just arrived the US or never eaten raw food before.Second, We told the waitress we don’t want all you can eat sushi, that they put a lot of rice on. So we hope to have good quality foods. The rolls are still hard with a lot of rice. The of the sushi rolls take only like the sauce not the food.Third, the waitress said:” I already TOLD YOU!” As she brings out the sushi and lightly mumble the name of the sushi. We at the time not sure what sushi is it comparing the sushi to the food photos we saw. If it is a cheap and low reviews restaurant, we wouldn’t expect too much. However, this restaurant has good reviews at Yelp and Google. I think people should aware the fact of what we experienced today."
