"Eating was quite decent, but not up to the standard I would expect for a $45 steak. I ordered the new york strip, which was tasteful but under. kartoffeln were lukewarm and over salted and asparagus was carburized. server was inexperienced, but attentive and friendly. our table in the rear part of the (weatherized) interior/outer cultivation was sloe and cool, and the table itself was metal outdoor furniture style that felt strange. we asked to move into the inside to a warmer area, but we said we had to wait because “there were many reservations.” we also had a reservation, so not sure why we did not sit in the inside to begin with it. each restaurant can have a night in the kitchen, but underwhelming eating plus uncomfortable seating set a damper at our date night. when we return, we want to specifically request indoor seating with cold weather."

My husband's steak was delicious but potatoes were soggy. Buffalo Mac was very oily. My Blackberry Mule was burnt with the bourbon. Ver carta

Didn’t see waiter a whole lot, not very personable. Was not prepared for all of the bones in the walleye. My husband had to debone it for me. It tasted good, just wasn’t great to have to stop eating often to pick out bones.

the experience in the area of disappointment was sat in the bar area with view of the kitchen. some of our foods sit on 10-25 minutes, after waiting 35 minutes we decided to leave. it wasn't about paying $20 for an salat that was just sitting on the counter for 25 minutes. first bad experience here but was really discouraging and all 4 of us are disappointed.

We had a reservation; our food was very good; however, we were seated in the overflow area right feet from the kitchen. So the continual in and out of the kitchen was a bit annoying And certainly did not add to the ambience of what is normally a very wonderful experience. Service was very slow… I understand it was busy… But when people are seated after you and the food comes before you, it was frustrating. Ver carta

I'm never disappointed by the food; the service was a bit slow (which we can understand) but we were only checked on once and then not again until we got our bill so we didn't really have good chance to order a second drink before it was time to leave (and we would have gladly ordered another). Servers were pleasant as usual, I just wish there was an additional runner checking on things like additional drinks.

Porter Creek was amazing! The food, the service and the ambiance were fantastic! It was my first visit here and I was impressed with everything especially when all the other restaurants in the area that are supposed to be ‘fine dining’ seem to be coming up short. We had a party of four including a child. Everything was served fast, hot and presented well. Dessert and coffee was offered and served fast enough without us feeling that we were being rushed. This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Fargo! I will recommend it to others and dine here again!

"While in Fargo Moorhead for Rare Beer Picnic, I made sure to get out of bed to join other craft beer nerds for the release of Double Barrel Aged King Size and Double Barrel Aged Midnight Spider at Junkyard Brewing. Rather than getting the bottles and running back to the hotel, I chose to sit and enjoy myself with a few half pours of their amazing beers in addition to chomping down a bigger plate of popcorn that I probably needed. Double Barrel Aged King Size: A Peanut Stout aged in two consecutive sets of freshly dumped Willet bourbon barrels, and then transferred to a new set of freshly dumped Willet bourbon barrels. Through the double barrel aging I get a lot of barrel character including licorice, oak, and bitter chocolate that plays well with the roasted nut flavors that are strong in the non barrel aged version. King Size is my favorite PB Stout, and this brought out a TON of complex flavors not in the OG. Double Barrel Aged Midnight Spider: An Imperial Stout double barrel aged in the same manner as DBA King Size. The base stout was brewed with roasted barley and conditioned on cocoa nibs, black walnuts, and marshmallow. The base beer is tasty in its own right, but the aging brings out the Rocky Road Ice Cream feel even more with some maple, oak, and vanilla flavors accentuated. Mild bitterness shown more think dark bakers chocolate and roasted nut. Wicked Awesome Slurry: An Imperial Double IPA hopped with Eureka and El Dorado. High haze, fluffy body mouthfeel from Wheat additions, and high tropical juice and bitterness. The name doesn't lie this is some wicked awesome slurry of dankness and citrus. ____________________"
