It was an honor to dine here. Thank you to master sushi chef Makio and his team for the excellent sushi and experience.

Had the sushi omakase. One of the best food experiences I've ever had. Every single piece and placement was intentional and delicious. Chef makio is a master.

Super high quality outside of NYC. Worth the trip if you are in the city, but an amazing surprise for us in the Hudson Valley.Update: visited again 3/23. Truly top notch sushi for anywhere and reasonably priced compared to Ver carta

We ordered several party platters, and they were outstanding. The yellowtail, salmon, and tuna were all incredibly fresh and flavorful. The eel and shrimp tempura were also fantastic. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly!

Reservations are highly recommended at this small and charming restaurant. The sushi is delicious; however, they do not accommodate any allergies. Additionally, there are limited gluten-free options available, and no substitutions were offered.

The sushi was fantastic, but the other dishes fell short, particularly the vegetarian options. My partner received a roll that she hadn't ordered instead of the one she selected. After taking a bite, she realized the mistake and informed the owner. To our surprise, he insisted that she pay for it because she had already taken a bite. This is beyond frustrating, especially since the error was theirs. What were they planning to do with the roll, give it to someone else? Ver carta

The food was amazing. Hence the single star. When I ordered my first roll the menu was quickly taken from me. When I got the food it was amazing. But wanted another roll of sushi. I must have sat there for 20 minuets with an empty plate before anybody asked me if I needed anything else. Mind you there’s only 1 other couple who mind you came after me and got all their food first. All I got was a simple dragon roll. Again amazing food but the service was horrible, the food is over priced. Would not dine in again. I’d give 0 stars if it weren’t for the food. Would NOT recommend.

The sushi was carefully made by the Japanese owner and was very delicious. First of all, I was impressed by the miso soup, which had just the right amount of seasoning. I ordered the sashimi dinner and was very satisfied as I was able to eat a lot of fish. I live near Manhattan, but this is the first time I've found a store that offers quality, hospitality, and reasonable prices like this one. I visited on two consecutive days during my trip, and it was always full, so I think it's best to make a reservation. I'm looking forward to visiting again. As a Japanese living close to Manhattan, this is the sushi place I wish I were closer to, so I could visit more often and bring guests. Great qual...

Authentic! Sushi made by SushiMakio 's chef with no doubts are the very best sushi i have had in the past 10 years. I was mesmerized by the famous chef , doing his art right there on the other side of the counter. I actually felt like I 'm reliving Kill Bill 2 scene when she had sushi in Japan. What else to say, we are very fortunate to have this level of expertise in town. Parking is hard to find , come early and plan ahead ! Thank you chef !For those people writing reviews here disappointed with portion vs price ratio : this is a place of food art not a fast food.
