What an amazing sandwich shop with amazing staff. One of my favorite places to eat in Los Angeles!

Flawless. The bread was amazing, the meat was delicious, and the ice cream was absolutely incredible.

The food was tasty, but the cost was a bit high. I ended up paying a $20 tip for just the sandwich (no sides), and although it was delicious, I don't think I could justify spending that much again. Ver carta

Great sandwich! I chose the Spanish Godfather. The bread was excellent and the meat, olives and sauce made for the perfect meal. I strongly recommend this spot and I look forward to trying more options on their menu.

Excellent. Parking is super limited but even if you have to park a couple blocks away, it's worth it. No indoor seating, just a few tables outside, most of them are shaded. Everyone was super nice. Food was really good, great quality all around.

I have found the best sandwich shop in all of Los Angeles! The portion sizes are huge, the food is amazing, and the staff, especially Isabelle, is incredibly sweet. Despite the one-hour wait, it was totally worth it. Plus, there's a bike path right behind the restaurant for added fun. I'll definitely be coming back every weekend, even though it's a half hour drive from me. Make sure to support this place! Ver carta

I recently visited a restaurant and tried their Vietnamese Bahn mi sandwich, the Steve Julian, for $20 (after tax). I was disappointed by the dry and bland shredded pork, which tasted more like tuna salad. Even my partner mistook it for tuna until I showed him the ingredient list. The bread, while great, was not ideal for this sandwich as it lacked the strength needed to bite through. The mushy filling made the eating experience messy without the flavor payoff of a bbq pulled pork sandwich. Despite the tasty aioli and pickles, they only made up a small portion of the sandwich. I am sure you've heard it all before, but I will say it again, this is a gem of a lunch spot in Los Angeles. Asides from the fun names, the sandwiches here are just spectacularly put together. They pair great flavor combinations with excellently sourced ingredients and have maintained a standard of exceptional quality all the way through the pandemic. Was honestly worried my first time back after 2020, but it seems like the local community has supported the great work this small shop is consistently doing all the way through the pandemic. I ordered from the front counter, where a friendly young lady took my order. Our food was ready in just 10 minutes, even though it can take up to 20 minutes. There is a fun seating area outside where you can enjoy your meal. The menu at Wax Paper features sandwiches named after personalities from Public Radio Station KPCC. I tried the Larry Mantle sandwich, which was delicious with herb bologna, salami, pickled onion, raw onion, mama lil’s pickled peppers, pepperoncini, shredded lettuce, shredded pecorino cheese, spicy aioli, and oregano vinaigrette on a France Bakery Sesame Roll.
