Chef Ron's Gumbo Stop

1 word, outstanding! Drum, jambalaya and bread pudding-Wow.

If you enjoy southern fried chicken, this is the place to go. It is a must-visit for me every time I am in New Orleans.

Shrimp were good but the po-boy was really dry. Crawfish etofee was good. Jambalaya was overcooked. Very stuffy inside. Someone was working on the air conditioning. Parking: Very small parking lot

We stumbled upon Chef Ron's during Essence Music Festival based on its google reviews and our need for some cajun food. I had some of the best gumbo of my life. I cannot wait to go back to get some more. Also the bartender, Jimmy (I think), hooked my drink up. It was definitely a hurricane!

I received a recommendation from a local to dine at this restaurant, and it was truly incredible. I ordered the Mumbo Gumbo and it was absolutely delicious. Ordered a meal to go, but cute place appeared welcoming to solo diners which is a plus. Seafood gumbo was fresh but mostly rice, greens I advice against unless you like it overcooked in salt. What stood out worthy of return visit was Chef Ron’s side of grilled vegetables absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it. Vegetarian options: Grilled veges A+

Definitely a spot for locals. My friends who live in New Orleans took us here, and it was fantastic: very kind staff, cute interior, great customer service, and DELICIOUS food. Everyone dining here was a local, present for a casual meal. At first, the food seemed a bit pricey for how casual the establishment was, but it was definitely worth it. Incredible experience. I came through town on a mad dash trip and wanted to taste a little bit of local food. Right when I came through the door I had at least three staff say hello and welcome me in. I sat at the bar and was served quickly with great recommendations from Jimmy. The Yumbo Mumbo Gumbo was deep, rich, and smooth with the bonus of crispy fried shrimp on top. While eating, the owner and namesake of the restaurant, Chef Ron, came over and chatted with me and could not have been a nicer guy.
