"That was my first visit. Parking is plentiful (on Tuesday). I think weekends are a bit more than Sugar Loaf cranks on weekends Artisan exhibits and shops. In any case and every day you go through, look at the taphouse. The ambience was very rustic and welcoming. You have the same barnsiding on the walls as I have in my house, so I think it's a beautiful motive. The service was timely and very professional. No failures were detected. The food is a mixture of American food entered a notch. We ordered the crabcake appetizer. They were delicious, but don't have the typical crabs I'm used to. Not a deal breaker, but a constructive criticism. Hello, boss! The main owners were Horshradish Crusted Wild Salmon with vegetables and rice pilaf and fish chips. My wife claims it is one of the better cooked and seasoned salmon she had (except mine, of course? It was also a decent piece. Veggies were cooked to a very nice snap. Pilaf was very tasty, but a little on the cold side. No deal breaker again. The fish chips were a treat. A really nice crisp to dough and not as delicate as in some places. The fish was perfectly cooked, white, lite and fluffy. The chips (aka fries were really good. They didn't eat and they were perfectly seasoned. If you are there during the Ocktoberfest season, try the Ocktoberfest. I thought it was a pretty good compliment for the fish chips. A point worth mentioning; Money-paying patrons save 4.5% credit card fees. The menu prices are the bar prices. It was interesting to read some of the older posts that claimed a 1 star rating. Not sure whether it was the staff, the cook or a combination of both these days. It awakens the owner to check who was in that time and have a heart to heart with them. Anyway, we give them a 5-star rating ths time, my first time. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. That was great! Visit the Taphouse! I'll be back soon."
