"Food is excellent! salmon and vegetables perfectly cooked, exquisite soft crunch to the tempura. And service was wonderful as was the ambiance. I was prepared to write an excellent review here and elsewhere on facebook, singing their praises, to further boost their business. I would have given even 6 stars if not for the experience I had at the end of the meal when I paid. I was charged extra for a green tea and was not advised that beverage was not included with the all you can eat price when I ordered it. Had I known I would have used my own tea that I carry with me. Not only that, the waitress and cashier proceeded to argue with me when I brought the charge to their attention and then began to converse in their native language in front of me. I asked them to speak English in front of me. It is terribly rude to change to another language in front of others when the other person does not speak that language, particularly when that other person is your customer!! I was friendly and gracious but despite that got a cold shoulder from the man at the counter after thanking him and paying my bill. Honestly the event cast a dark shadow over what was otherwise a delightful experience. And I probably won't be back."

"One of my favorite dining spots! The food has consistently been excellent, and while the staff is generally decent, there are a couple of standout members. During our last visit, we enjoyed sitting outside, and once again, the food was great. However, we did experience some service issues; our drinks ran dry multiple times, and we had to flag down staff for our next round, silverware, napkins, and other essentials that should typically be readily available. If we had been offered more beer promptly, we would definitely have taken advantage of it."

"This small local mini-chain (does having two locations count as a chain?) offers a nice range of beers along with solid German cuisine. The sausages are sourced from local producers, as well as from places as far away as the East Coast. During a recent visit, we tried the pierogi, which were tasty, but I felt they were somewhat overwhelmed by the sriracha butter. In my opinion, a classic butter sauté would better highlight the potato and onion filling. The soup was richly delicious, and the sandwich was well-prepared with a fresh, crisp roll. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, and the homemade mushroom sauce was excellent. The cabbage was also cooked just right. Overall, the food was quite good. The service was decent—not great, but not bad either—although it did come off as a bit indifferent."

"I had all but lost hope coming from a much larger city that Fargo didn’t have any real “upscale” restaurants. We came in today for my boyfriends birthday and we’re pleasantly surprised! Charity, our server, was kind and attentive, and knew a TON of information about the food. We both had a cup of the seafood chowder, delicious, split a “hearts of romaine” salad (this is basically just romaine and Parmesan, but what set it apart was that it is served inside an edible toasted parmesan “bowl” which was a great touch! I had the blackened walleye over rice, with asparagus, mushrooms and baby roasted potatoes. I ate every bite delightfully. My boyfriend had the Chicken scampi over whipped potatoes and asparagus. Definitely stole a few bites from his plate when I could! Both were phenomenal. We finished with a scoop each of ice cream. Not sure how I almost forgot this the “last word” martini was a knock out. The drink was a slightly altered take on the classic cocktail and it worked marvelously. So good it snuck up on me and I had to stop sipping so frequently to allow it to survive the entirety of the dinner next time, I think I’ll just order two!"

"We got placed in the very far back of the restaurant in what looked like an enclosed patio. Not sure why since it looked like there was plenty of open tables in the main part of the restaurant as we passed by. It was extremely noisy and at one point it sounded like a helicopter was landing on the roof. I think it was some kind of exhaust fan maybe. Were we put in the crappiest table because we booked on OpenTable? We arrived early and sat in the bar and had a drink waiting for our reservation. We could have just had our dinner there but that was never offered. We even had to close out our bar tab instead of adding it to our food order. I thought that was odd. Our server made up for a lot of the minor annoyances though. She was great."
