"Out of our five day restaurant experience in NYC this one was by far most memorable. The menu's words don't do the food justice as it's complex flavors and fragrances unfold in your palate. As a family of four we had two sandwiches, pancakes and one soup, as well one desert, coffee and hot chocolate. All items were exceptional in their delivery. The coffee was bold, full bodied but not burned like a French roast, the hot cocoa deserves a visit all on its own, the food was simply great in all aspects, flavor, the satiety it provided, and the feeling of quality. The staff was responsive, friendly, and fun."

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."

"I've been to quite a few omakase spots and Sushi Lin by far is my very top omakase spot. $100 omakase (sushi bar only) is actually pretty decent and average price compare to the amount of food you're getting plus the freshness of the fish. Comes with multiple delicious appetizer (cooked raw) and each piece of sushi that they offered are so unique to taste. It left us smiling after each piece. Their sesame pudding is a must! I would highly recommend it and request to just do the $100 omakase at the bar and it'll be well worth it!"

"The French toast had a pleasant flavor, but unfortunately, everything was served ice cold. The bacon tasted old, as if it had been sitting out all day. I ordered it extra crispy, but it arrived chewy and stale. The coffee was also cold and had a burnt taste. They gave me a minuscule amount of syrup—a tiny cup—for four large, thick slices of French toast. Given the price, it's disappointing that they skimped on something as basic as maple syrup. And there was no butter included either. I'm giving it 3 stars solely because the French toast was genuinely enjoyable—rich and citrusy. However, it took over an hour for my food to arrive from just three blocks away (don’t judge, I’m under the weather!), and everything else was cold, stale, and tasted old."
