"We are BIG fans of Romaines .. the renovations are beautiful .. welcoming and very nice trendy .. waiting area is awesome!!!! FOOD.. another story .. very disappointed... starters .. calamari was full of batter .. why ruin a good a good thing ... it Used to be amazing Next salad .. where is the Caesar that we loved .. were we the only ones who loved this? Entrees.. oh boy! The shrimp now has a funky red sauce ..And the haddock was very dry and .. might be better as a fish and chip Overall .. Romaines is no longer a fine dining restaurant it is more of a bar and you should go there expecting a burger or lighter fare ..it's something the area might need but you should not be paying the price of the older Romaines and receiving a lesser menu We never minded spending a larger amount for dinner and a great bottle of wine when the food equaled what we paid .. but now I will still be a fan of Romaines but know that I should keep my food choices to the burger or fish tacos They changed the look and the menu but they forgot to change the name .. not Romaines anymore"

"Pas mon genre d'endroit. Le bar / taverne avait des clients hurlants et bruyants un jour où il n'y avait personne autour. Vraiment un menu dégustation, assiette pour adolescents, portions pour adolescents, mauvais rapport qualité / prix. La serveuse m'a dit que les poivrons verts dans ma chaudrée de palourdes étaient doux - ils ne l'étaient pas et devaient cracher avec une bouche brûlante. Vraiment gênant quand j'ai été traité. Au lieu de cela, ils m'ont donné des asperges. Votre seul légume. Ils n'ont pas remarqué que mon verre d'eau était vide et j'ai dû le demander. Des bancs sans dossier pour s'asseoir dans la taverne / bar, mais vous pouvez demander une chaise inconfortable. Pas un endroit où vous, comme moi, mangez beaucoup de protéines et de légumes sains. Je n'aime pas quitter un restaurant où je me sens gonflé de trop de nourriture, mais je ne veux pas non plus avoir faim. Le café était bon après le repas."

"We had a reservation, were seated immediately. We waited 10 minutes before I went to the Hostess and let her know no one had come by. They sent a waitress who was lovely, she was not told we were her table. We ordered pizza and a salad. The Ceaser salad was drenched in dressing. The Margherita pizza was terrible. The pizza had a thick outer crust that appeared to be cooked well but the remaining pizza slice was undercooked and so thin that you could not separate the slices. It just broke apart. The sauce was sugary sweet. We were so disappointed. Loved the idea of the brick oven as described on their site as The pizza is baked in a brick oven and the high temperature produces a thin crust that is the perfect combination of slightly chewy, crispy light, and airy. it was not cooked at all. Sad to say, will not go back"

"Nothing to say but all great! John and his family have been running their business for many years and I have been coming here for several. They will serve you up their menu anyway you like and even cook something you want that’s not on the menu. I came in a stranger and now I’m treated, along with many of their regulars, as family. It is one of my sanctuaries. "My mom and I visited on a Sunday around 10:30 am and had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. Some other couples who arrived just after us seemed to wait over an hour. The waiting area is in the front hallway and gets quite crowded, as there isn’t a dedicated host; the waitstaff also manage the hosting duties. The staff appeared somewhat overwhelmed, and at times, annoyed while navigating the crowded hallways to serve their tables. They don’t utilize any electronic systems for managing the waitlist; instead, they simply jot down names on a piece of paper. When we inquired about wait times, they weren’t able to provide any estimates. I believe that streamlining the process by having a host at the front and directing guests through the main entrance could alleviate some congestion in the hallway and stairs that the staff use to transport food. Our server, however, was sweet and attentive. While the food and coffee took longer to arrive than anticipated, everything was generally satisfactory. The pancakes were a little underwhelming, but the omelet and potatoes were quite decent. I enjoyed a cappuccino while my mom had the regular drip coffee, both of which were good. She ordered a carafe of coffee but only received a small shot glass of creamer, necessitating multiple requests for more. I also noticed a large jar of brown sugar on the table for the coffee, which guests have to dip their own spoons into. Personally, I find this unappealing from a hygiene perspective and think it would be better to have a dispensing jar or individually wrapped sugar packets instead."
