"My gf and I just ate at this restaurant and the customer service we received from Silvia was lackluster at best. The moment we walked in her energy wasn’t inviting and she was the greeter. Once my gf received her salad she noticed the amount of fish she received was smaller than usual. We’ve eaten here plenty of times, so she brought it up to our waiter who relayed the message to his manager Silvia. Silvia came out to address our concern, but my gf felt as if Silvia was brushing her off and didn’t seem to care about what she had to say. I watched this lady’s body language and her facial expression the entire time and I interpreted it as “you can hurry up now because I really don’t care”. We were not rude even after she acted insensitive and insincere. I ended up speaking to her one on one to voice my concern, but she only deflected by saying “I’m sorry she felt this way.” Based on the reviews I just read, my observation of this lady was correct. I’m a military veteran who happen to be Black. My gf is also Black and she gives so much back to Decatur and the kids as a boxing instructor. I cannot imply she’s racist, but I’ve read several reviews by previous Black customers that stated she came off as racist. I will no longer support this business."

"This is a great spot in the neighborhood to grab a quick bite to eat. Finding parking was a bit difficult for me as my GPS said I arrived, but I was confused. After checking the website and seeing photos of the building, I finally found the restaurant. You can either park on the street for free or use the complimentary parking lot behind the building. I met a friend here for Sunday brunch and we were greeted with a warm welcome. Our waitress, Sonya, was very attentive and the manager even stopped by our table to make sure we had everything we needed."

"This place may not be ideal for those who are uncomfortable in non-vegetarian restaurants. There is a long list of meat sandwiches served. Still, the quality and selection of vegan desserts were amazing. There is a dessert case devoted exclusively to vegan cakes (about 6-8 choices), and I found it hard to choose. I went with the raspberry chocolate mousse cake, and was glad I did. It's shocking that a place that's not exclusively vegan can do such a great job; the cake was fresh, light, smooth, and perfect. It had no overly sugary or fatty taste or texture, as some novice attempts at vegan desserts tend to have. I've never had a better vegan dessert in any bakery or restaurant, after fifteen years of being vegan. For an entree of sorts, the only real option is the hummus and veggie sandwich (called Eat Your Veggies), which good and served on excellent, fresh bread, although for non-vegans there is a veggie cheeseburger."

"I visited this restaurant for a date, and it was a delightful experience! I'm already quite familiar with Kimball House due to my involvement in the oyster community, but this was my first visit. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they serve West Coast oysters, which are very rare to find in Atlanta. We sat at the bar for dinner, where a fantastic bartender took care of us. While I don't remember every detail of the food, I can confidently say that the oysters were the highlight of my meal. I do wish they still had a happy hour, but I’ll definitely return for the West Coast oysters and the exceptional shuck—truly one of the best I’ve encountered—as well as the charming presentation in a cute tincture bottle. I also loved the cozy, dimly lit atmosphere in the evening. I will definitely be back!"

"We had our wedding anniversary dinner there and was impressed that there was a greeting card from the staff on our table wishing us a happy anniversary upon arrival. Our waiter was very attentive without being clingy leaving us alone for a romantic meal. Each table had a single red rose perfect touch. We are glad our waiter recommended the calamari for appetizer it was cooked perfectly. The surf and turf had a great 6 oz filet and huge shrimp. My husband had the strip steak cooked to perfection. We will be returning for another romantic meal."
