"We visited after living out of town for 10 years. It was 1 of our best dining experiences since moving back to STL. Starting with the hostess, then the waitress very experienced and professional and personable. The food was outstanding: mixed green salad, roasted beet salad, grilled octopus appetizer, lamb chops and halibut. I ordered ala carte. My wife had the tasting menu. Portions were perfect. More importantly, the food quality, flavors and presentation were perfection. Service was superb. Everyone really hustled. Great wine list and knowledgeable waitress for both food and wines. Chef /Owner Jim Fiala served the room too. Noise level was a little too high, but not to prevent a conversation for 2. This will be one of our regular spots going forward."

"it is probably about six months since we are here, and it seems that management has changed. we were really happy here, but this experience has ensured that we do not go back. we ordered two pizzas and they came about 20 minutes apart. When my free pizza came out, it was so hard that I could hardly break the crust with my hands. the manager came by and told us it was always like that. that was a great restaurant in the past, but the quality of the food has greatly decreased, and the management does not seem to care anymore."

"It's my favorite place to take myself on a selfie date night. This place speaks for itself! The staff is fabulous always welcoming. They really make the place. The food is delicious consistent. I'm absolutely addicted to the green beans. The chef is engaging professional. The atmosphere is relaxing inviting. It feels like home away from home. The amount of regulars that frequent Avenue is a sign of the tight knit, family vibes that you get from being there. I have never once found myself bored or without intriguing amazing conversations. Do yourself the favor check it out! Doesn't matter where you sit, you're going enjoy yourselves, the food, the drinks, the service will not disappoint! Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate my celiac food restrictions. Staff was very knowledgeable understanding."

"I had dinner at Sushi Ai in Clayton last Thursday with a friend and her family, and I have to say—it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The All-You-Can-Eat Sushi for just $24 is an absolute steal. What really sets it apart is that there are no limitations—you can order any sushi or sushi rolls you want, and it also includes all of their appetizers. The variety is incredible, and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also tried one of their sushi combos, which was extremely generous for the price. For $24, it’s more than enough to fill you up and offers great value for the quality you’re getting. One of the highlights for me was the udon noodles—rich, savory, and perfectly cooked. At only $11, it was both delicious and budget-friendly. Whether you’re planning a casual dinner or a special night out with family and friends, I highly recommend Sushi Ai. "Food was good. The paella was different than I expected. The rice was a little gummy and it had a lot of liquid. I’ve tasted much better paella. The other small plates we shared were very tasty. We sat outside and we ordered red sangria. It was very tasty but maybe when serving outside provide a separate pitcher of ice as the sangria became very watered down. The staff was awesome. Some of the best wait staff I’ve ever experienced."

"I love supporting local small businesses. And I don?t write poor reviews unless the experience is very bad. I simply cannot get past this. This was my go to place for Italian a hidden gem. I raved about it any time someone asked for dinnerrecommendations. Last night, that all changed. We had friends in town this week from Texas. They are foodies like us. I madereservations, knowing seating was limited. I raved about this place to the friends all week saying this was going to be theirmust visit spot whenever they came to town. We arrived, were seated, and were perusing the menu when the greeter stepped up toour table a few minutes later to inform us that our party had to eat at the bar, outside in the 90 degree heat, or leave becausethey promised our table to someone else. In all my years of dining, fine or otherwise, I have never had this happen. To saythat I was embarrassed was an understatement. Our guests were aghast. We wound up having an enjoyable meal at Napoli up thestreet. As much as I have enjoyed the food at Peno, I cannot go back. Buyer beware."

"Always have had positive experiences at this location but tonight I am inspired to write a review. I’m only inspired by outstanding or abominable service. I walked in at 8:54pm feeling horrible as they were sweeping the floor and cleaning up for the night. However, they invited me in and were extremely cordial and had positive attitudes. Wished me a good night, etc. everything was extremely fresh. I had a bad night and they turned it around with their welcoming attitude!"

"Ordered in advance, received the it 's ready message, came. There were no ready orders for me yet, so I 've waited. And waited. And waited. When after like fifteen minutes I decided to ask what is the plan, the Subway worker told me that she isn 't the one who sends the messages and my order is actually not even started so get in the line, man. She started to work on my order ONLY when the guy in the line let me be first. And only then she found out that part of the things we 've ordered and payed for are absent in this location, like meatballs. Indeed not the best experience over all"

"We had a great time at The Crossing. Serve staff was attentive and worked as a team. Food was wonderful and had complex layers of flavors. The tasting menu was a good value. We do not get the wine flight, but the wine list is extensive. Instead, we opted for a nice quality scotch that was recommended and enjoyed it quite a bit. We enjoyed the ahi tuna tartare, roasted beet salad, which is really more like a tart, the octopus and the trout. The trout was well executed with crisp skin, which I normally do not enjoy. It worked well here. The ginger cream Brûlée was executed well, but we preferred the flavor of the white chocolate tart. The only item I would shy away from is the mushroom Tagliolini which is nice, but too oily. Extra Parmesan cheese would made it pop more. Overall, we enjoyed our evening and felt that our money was well spent."
