"Nugget is a higher-end grocery store compared to Safeway. However, there are some hidden gems you can discover at Nugget. The meats are consistently more affordable and of better quality than Safeway. One of my favorite things about Nugget is that they offer a wide selection of international items and a variety of different options for the same products. For example, they have an impressive selection of brioche buns, with six different variations available. Additionally, the short ribs at Nugget are absolutely delicious."

"Wow, wow, wow! This photo is from The Hotdogger, a food stand that appears at Ruhstaller Farm on Fridays. It's something I eagerly anticipate each week! Ivan, Rain, and Gill are truly wonderful people; they provide outstanding service, and their hot dogs are simply unbeatable. Everything is made fresh—hot links, sausages, and even vegan options—you name it! They also have a great "dress-up" station where you can customize your hot dog just the way you want. The Hawaiian sauce is incredibly tasty. If you’re in the mood for a juicy, mouthwatering hot dog, this place is a must-visit! Plus, chatting with the amazing team behind it is an added treat. Keep up the fantastic work, Ivan!"

"I used to like this place. But recently there is a waitress (short hair) who is rude. I remembered last time I came myself, she put down my dishes carelessly. And she asked me if I am done when there are still food in my plates. This time I came and they cannot serve dine in, the other waiter explained nicely with me the reason. While we are talking, that waitress came by and talked to me with unpleasant attitude. Even though I still love the food here, I will never come again if this waitress is still here. I really miss the old Huku, servers are polite and always awesome experience dining here. But now…."

"This restaurant offers a variety of vegan cheeses and butters, along with a well-stocked baking section. They also feature unique items like dried mushrooms and polenta, as well as a small bulk section for grains and spices. Additionally, there's a small selection of dish soap, garbage bags, medicine, and natural cosmetics. The bakery and deli are great, and they have a hot food bar, plus a coffee bar in the mornings. The staff members are exceptionally friendly, and I've never had to wait in line. Although I do pay a bit more to shop here, I find it to be worth it as it saves me time and frustration."

"As a first-time visitor, I embarked on a foodie adventure in downtown Davis and concluded my evening at Sweet and Shavery. I was drawn in by their parfait half and half, which combines Italian ice with frozen custard. I really appreciate this creative twist on dessert and loved the extensive menu of possible combinations! Although there was a long line, the service was surprisingly quick, and they generously offer two free samples. I tried the chocolate ice, which convinced me to go for the chocolate macaroon parfait made with chocolate ice, coconut cream ice, chocolate custard, and chocolate sauce. My partner opted for the frozen banana parfait, featuring banana ice, chocolate custard, and chocolate sauce. We couldn’t have been happier! Both desserts were beautifully presented and had a light yet satisfying taste. We found a high-top table inside since all the regular tables were taken. Sweet and Shavery seems to be a favorite among students, and I’m thrilled to have discovered what I consider the best dessert spot in Davis!"

"This unique burger restaurant is a gem. The curly fries were delicious, though the chicken was a bit standard. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they really know how to customize their burgers. My friend ordered her burger well-done and it came out perfectly. The prices are reasonable."

"Boomerang in Davis, Oklahoma, has proven to be the most inconsistent restaurant I've ever visited. The only reliably excellent aspect is Amber, whose service keeps drawing us back. I’ve lost track of how many times we've arrived only to find the restaurant closed during its posted hours. This morning was a prime example: although they open at 7 AM, there was no one there. The lights were off, the staff was absent, and the chairs remained on the tables well past opening time. We weren’t the only ones waiting; several people in the parking lot spent about 30 minutes hoping to get in before ultimately leaving. It’s the only breakfast spot in town, unless you count Sonic. If another breakfast place were to open, I believe Boomerang would struggle to keep its customers. When they do manage to be open, the food is quite good, but they really need to adhere to their posted hours."

"I usually steer clear of the meat section, as I’ve found the selection to be questionable over the years. I have bought meat there before that had an unpleasant smell when I got home, and given the high prices, it's not something I’d like to repeat. I really dislike returning items, so it's been a while since I last purchased meat from them. It’s possible that things have improved, or maybe it’s just a popular spot for vegetarians. Overall, I really enjoy our food co-op and feel grateful to have this wonderful resource in our community."

"This restaurant has gone down hill steadily after moving to their current location. A decade ago, the food was fresh and homemade but that is not the case anymore.. The “shawarma” served is not shawarma and seems to be some sort of frozen processed product that is warmed up then chopped up to try to mask this. I would bet that there is no shawarma spit in the kitchen at all. The fries are pretty clearly frozen store bought and do not taste fresh at all. Pretty bad sign if you can’t cut up potatoes and drop them in the fryer. Food has continuously become more expensive over time while quality has declined. The food is mostly store bought and then assembled in the kitchen. It is certainly edible but hard to justify the cost for most people in yolo county for what it is. The food at east Med chain fast food restaurants like The kebab shop is much better. Sad to see."

"Orderly chaos is my best description of the environment here. It's definitely not a restaurant I'd pick if left to my own devices, but I was on a group trip. I do have to give them credit though because our group was 20+ people. It started out just shy of utter chaos, but they quickly got it down to ordered chaos. I probably would've clocked out if I were one of the employees because they already had a full house. Service was pretty good considering the situation. So why the 3 stars? What happened to the other 2? Well, I sent them out to buy seasoning for my meal. I ordered pulled chicken (I eat plant based but chicken is my go to when it's not a feasible option and it wasn't in this case). The chicken was on the salvageable side of kinda dry, but it had ZERO flavor. I need to know where the seasoning went. Not anything fancy mind you, just a little bit of salt and pepper. There was NO seasoning on that chicken, and I may have prayed for the chicken because it didn't give up it's life for me to have to drown it in BBQ sauce. I'm sorry to that bird. The BBQ sauce wasn't bad, and they had great fries. The fries are pretty much why I tolerated the chaos. I will say this, they have baked potatoes, but it's not obvious at all. If you prefer that to fries, be sure to ask. Also those potatoes are huge so keep that in mind. Would I go back? No, I wouldn't. Do I think it's worth a shot if you're an actual carnivore/omnivore? I do as other members of the group seemed happy with their meals."

"This place is always hopping busy. My father was craving a chile relleno. I called in an order for pick up. I ended up ordering him the Chile relleno plate with rice and refried beans. I ordered chicken nachos for myself. When I got the food home the nachos were not chicken but maybe lengua? Small square pieces and dark in color. It wasn't what I ordered but I wasn't going to drive back for a replacement. My father thoroughly enjoyed the chile relleno. Chips and salsa is always a plus."

"The teas and blended ice drinks here are absolutely delicious! My personal favorite is the blended ice coffee with Oreo; it’s the perfect mix of coffee and Oreo flavors. The interior is cozy and inviting, and they even have board games you can enjoy while you’re there. Instead of a traditional cashier, there are three ordering stations available. The touch screen menu is user-friendly, making it easy to select your drink, adjust the sweetness, and add or substitute ingredients. I highly recommend the mango ice blended drink with ice cream—it’s fantastic! The ice blended Oreo drink with ice cream is equally delightful."

"I was recommended Zumapoke by an aide at my physical therapist's office. Having never tried poke before, I was unsure, but since I enjoy sashimi, they thought I would like it. I must say, I absolutely loved it! I had recently sampled poke at a place in San Diego where all the dishes were drenched in a sauce filled with onions, which didn't sit well with me since I'm not fond of raw onion. However, at Zumapoke, I was able to customize my bowl exactly how I wanted it. I chose half rice and half salad, three scoops of plain raw salmon, and added ponzu sriracha mayo for sauces. My toppings included seaweed salad, crab salad, edamame, pineapple, crispy onions, pickled cucumbers, and ginger. The fish was fresh and abundant. Unlike my previous experience, the rice was fluffy, well-cooked, and not sour or vinegary at all. I truly appreciated the freshness of the ingredients and left feeling extremely satisfied. I'm officially on the poke bandwagon!"

"Cindy’s is my all time favorite spot in all of yolo and sacramento county. Breakfast is to die for, lunch and dinner are delicious. The staff is the best in town. Liz, Earth, and of course Jerry are all funny, kind, and very wholesome hosts. Service is always fast and friendly.The coolest part about Cindy’s is that they serve both thai and american diner food, both of which are fantastic! Nothing beats getting a thai tea with your breakfast, but if you really want a specialty treat, ask for the yellow curry omlet, with chicken ! Its amazing ?!Some other great breakfast favorites of mine are: the Breakfast burger, chicken fried steak, Eggs benedict, and the french toast! Pad thai and yellow curry are on point for lunch/ dinner?!"

"The Tri-Tip Dip has too little meat, and since the meat is the highlight, that's disappointing. "Food was delicious. My rating on this place is solely on the food. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite part about the food was the breading was very thin so we had nice sized portions of meat in every bite. It tasted fresh and was very nice serving sizes. My only complaints are the decor being old fashioned and lack thereof and also the staff seemly not caring about anything you have to say or your existence. Our waiter did nothing to show disrespect, but he seemed like he didn't really care. Not that this changed my opinion because the food was so good. Thanks tasty kitchen. We will be returning."

"Three Ladies emphasizes smoothies/coffee/tea with sandwiches and light meals. The great thing is there's a vegan option in every section of the menu (breakfast, baked goods, ploughman's lunch). In truth it isn't the best food, but they do not have a full kitchen to work with, and they're updating and tweaking the menu all the time. I will continue supporting them because Davis needs more vegetarian (vegan places, and I think it's a good start. They are kid-friendly with music and story time, and offered a discount for participants in the Women's March!"

"Just got back from the worst dining experience of my life. We ordered wine, an appetizer, entrees and dessert up front. The drinks and apps come in about 25 minutes...but we never got our entrees. After 1:15 of patiently waiting they come over and give us the bill. I had to tell them that we hadn't had all of our food yet, only the appetizers. After asking repeatedly what we ordered even though it was on the check) we were left in suspense if our food would ever arrive. 20 minutes later I had to flag down the owner to ask for our food to-go because I didn't want to be there anymore and I was assured it would be out quickly. Another 20 minutes elapsed and we got the food and went home. Unfortunately on top of that the curries and daal were fairly tasteless and as others have said the tomato flavor tasted canned. I used to love this place. I'd bring my mom when she visited and friends from out of town. Even ordering catering for the holi celebrations. It really hurts me to write this review, but I don't know if I can go back :"

"Eating here feels like going home. Tucked away in a corner framed by arching red-glazed buildings, Noodle City is a hidden gem in Davis. I got the five spice beef noodle soup $12.50), which arrives piping hot with chunks of flavorful braised beef, their specialty soup, and housemade noodles. You can easily tell the noodles are handmade from their unevenness and unrivaled bounciness, delightful mouthfeel when chewed. 'Homemade ' and other synonyms are most apt for Noodle City, it truly feels as if you 're sitting down to a meal prepared by the best version of family cooks. If you 've watched “Ratatouille,” do you remember that scene where the critic tries the dish and is whisked back to his childhoood eating a dish prepared with a mother 's love? You might have that experience when sipping the soup at Noodle City; their recipes bring that familiar touch of a home kitchen with the refinement of restaurant service. I sat indoors at one of their booth seats, but there 's also limited) outdoor seating. I 've been here before with family and found the tables are flexible enough to accommodate larger parties or just a solo diner as I was). Anything with noodles is guaranteed to be a hit here, I 'd personally recommend the pork chop noodle soup. Don 't overlook their desert options either, those fried sesame balls are freshly made with just the right texture similar to sticky rice or mochi) and perfectly paired with ice cream. The friendly staff recommended I come back again to try their jjajang noodles, and who am I to refuse such an enticing offer? I 'll definitely visit and eat at Noodle City again, and hope that others give this affordable place a chance."
