"I loved The Whelk along The Saugatuck Rivet. The menu was very creative. I started with Deviled Eggs and Fried Oysters. They were delicious and our waiter said they were voted the #1 appetizer of any restaurant in Connecticut! My husband had for his appetizer: Octopus with potatoes, olives, paprika, garlic aioli. We both ordered the Halibut, with peas, onions, and lettuce gem. Since it was my birthday we ordered an olive cake with cherries, but it was heavy, and made me feel too stuffed. I was hoping they had a light mousse or creme brulee, but on the whole, their creative menu and drinks were great. They also kept the place very clean, and sanitized between new customers they served. Thank you to my husband, and Whelk staff for making my birthday so nice !!"
