The Prime Rib here is incredible—definitely the best in Beaufort. It was cooked to perfection and had an amazing flavor. My wife ordered the scallops, and they were exceptional as well. The portions are very generous too!

The food here is the best in Beaufort. The swordfish Oscar served on scalloped potatoes is exceptional, and the French onion soup is outstanding. The crab cake is delicious, and the sticky toffee pudding is simply to die for. Don’t hesitate—make a dash to Black Dog!

Excellent hidden gem in Port Royal. A must if in the Beaufort SC area. I highly recommend making reservations as this gem only has 10 tables inside. The food was fabulous, service could not be any better. A very well run establishment with only 3 people running it. Next time we will order the steak it looked delicious.

The service tries to embody a high-class experience, but it felt more like a stretch. It's rather expensive! The side portions were quite small. The steak was not grilled properly; I ordered it medium, but it arrived medium well, with one side overcooked. The slight pink in the center was also significantly off to one side. Honestly, I could have had a better steak at a more affordable steakhouse.

My wife and I had an amazing dining experience from beginning to end. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant is a cozy and tranquil spot. We began our meal with a wedge salad and a tuna appetizer, both of which were delicious. My wife ordered the prime rib, while I opted for the seared scallops—both dishes were fantastic. Update: This place has remained a favorite of ours for quite some time now, and it has only improved with the arrival of the new chef. I enjoyed an incredible meal that included mussels, French onion soup, a seasonal salad, and prime rib paired with Chilean lobster tail and Alfredo pasta. It was indulgent and absolutely worth it. For dessert, we savored a flourless chocolate torte and chocolate chip cheesecake, leaving us completely satisfied. We can’t wait to return next week!

We had a wonderful Valentine's dinner at the Black Dog Grill this evening. This charming, intimate restaurant offers a concise yet impressive menu along with a few nightly specials. The swordfish was outstanding and served in a generous portion, accompanied by creamy parmesan orzo and perfectly al dente haricot verts. The French onion soup was delicious as always and could easily be shared between two people. We also appreciated our interaction with our server, Lesley, who I believe is one of the owners. We highly recommend the Black Dog Grill if you're in the area, and we even travel from Bluffton because we enjoy it so much!

This used to be my favorite restaurant in town, but my recent visit was quite disappointing. I ordered the chicken marsala while my wife had the tenderloin. My marsala tasted like something from Olive Garden, and my wife's steak was overcooked. I’ve always enjoyed my meals here, so I reached out to the restaurant and learned that the chef had recently left. The new chef is just his assistant and, unfortunately, is only average at best. The staff were friendly and the service was good, but the quality of the food was lacking. My bill came to over $100, which felt like it should have been half that amount.
