"The food at the restaurant was quite good, although a bit overpriced for what it was, which is to be expected in a tourist area. However, I rated the experience 3 stars primarily because the service was incredibly slow. I ordered a cocktail, and it took 15 minutes to arrive, despite it being a simple drink. The waitress repeatedly apologized, saying the bartender was busy, but the place was not crowded when we arrived. It took about 40 minutes for our food to come out, and when I ordered another cocktail, it never arrived. After we finished our meal, my husband asked the waitress to check on it, and she casually admitted, "I forgot," as she walked back. Considering there are so many other dining options available, I likely won’t return."

"This was a local establishment that had the people of Manteo starting off their day, getting their breakfast, and meeting up with others. We were welcomed quickly and told to find a place to sit and given menus. A lot of options and I choose the French Toast with bacon. It came out and beautifully sprinkled with powered sugar. The 3 slices of bacon were crispy, just the way I like it and I was full when we were done. We chatted with the people at the table next to us and it was a very comfortable morning and a great way to get a good meal in before heading off to see the sites. If you want the local experience, you will find it here."

"I dined here on two consecutive nights in late May 2022, and I was impressed by the food preparation, which is a fantastic addition to the culinary landscape of Manteo. Both nights, I ordered the fish of the day, and it was well-cooked, flavorful, and elegantly presented. There are only a few waterfront dining spots on Roanoke Island, and 1587 definitely boasts one of the best views. The dining room is cozy, with a water view from every seat—you're so close that it feels like you could almost reach out and touch the water. Currently, they only accommodate parties of six or fewer, which makes for a more intimate setting. Be patient as they navigate the ongoing pandemic; they prepare excellent food, and good things take time. Like many restaurants, they are dealing with supply shortages, so a little patience goes a long way. Overall, this dining experience is absolutely worth it right now."

"We were staying in Outer Banks for a few days and we were hungry for something different. Being Peruvian I’m always on the lookout for Peruvian cuisine. I have eaten Peruvian food in 4 different states (California, Tennessee, Virginia and now North Carolina) and disappointed in both North Carolina and Virginia. We decided to give this place a shot. Overall the food was not bad but that doesn’t mean it was great. The interesting thing is that they serve both Peruvian food as well as Mexican. Definitely an odd combination since they have nothing in common. It was overpriced and not worth returning to in the future. Again…not bad food but it could have been better."

"Don't review often but with some places I've dealt with makes me want to become a professional food taste tester and food reviewer . The food was amazing, and I'll be back next time I'm down here, I don't care how far I have to travel from obx. It's worth it especially if you're headed to the aquarium or passing by to obx. The burger was huge compared to normal burger and was bigger than the buns and well worth the price, it had good flavor and was quite juicy and I could tell it was made on the grille. The pizza was next level, made fresh also you could see the man's dough covered hands If you're coming here I definitely recommend the pizza, it's the best I've had so far in the obx. Like I said, I'll be back for more the next time I'm Herr around the obx."
