"I'm not a big fan of ceviche, so I like to make my own mix instead. I combine shrimp and ahi tuna with some fruit. During this visit, I forgot to add avocado. The total was around $21, including tax. Some might find that pricey, but it always provides leftovers for both me and my boyfriend. It's ideal for a beach day or for taking home. It's incredibly fresh, tasty, and healthy—definitely a winning choice!"

Very nice buffet. They serve cheviche (what is in the name). It is fish and shrimps in lemon juice. Different kind of vegetables could be added. Should be eaten with chips. You can buy some hot sauce if you like. Very nice to have it after a beach. Staff is friendly and quite agile making your meals just on the fly. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

I can’t express how much I love this place! We come to SPI every couple of years and will eat here every day for lunch. They just added a Poke bowl place that is also just phenomenal. "I highly recommend dining at this restaurant! My partner and I drove five hours from San Antonio to spend a week in South Padre Island, and we would make that journey just to enjoy the Magic Burger and hot dog again! The burger exceeded all my expectations; it featured the most incredible mahi tuna I've ever tasted, paired with thick-cut crinkle fries that were fried to perfection—absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was refreshing, especially being right by the water. I can't recommend this place enough, and we plan to return every time we visit!"

"We stopped in for lunch on a Monday afternoon because the cafe we planned to visit was unexpectedly closed, and we couldn't be happier about it! The restaurant is small but comfortable, with a mix of booths and tables, and our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. They offer a lunch menu M-F, and the portions are very generous! A loaf of crispy yet fluffy house made ciabatta bread was brought for us to enjoy while we waited for our order, served with a whipped garlic butter. The lunch order of Italian nachos was enough to feed 2 people easily! The Tuscano soup is some of the best soup I have ever had, and the pizza and calzone looked and tasted like they were fresh from a brick oven. My VERY picky son, who considers himself a pizza gourmet, said it was one of the best pizzas he has ever had! We plan to visit again soon to try out their dinner menu."

"Could be better, however this place has a cult type following so there is usually a wait. Service was great. Food was just okay. Calamari taste a bit too fishy. Fried fish and shrimp combo was my choice. Fish was not tasty they might want to beer batter it to give it a better taste. The tarter sauce was not tasty. The shrimp was okay but the cocktail sauce was great. I had coleslaw for the side and it was great. Bad news is that hush puppies were not good. I recommend them using a little cornmeal and baking powder to produce a lighter more tasty hush puppy. My son said the seafood pasta was great. My other guest said that carrots in the mixed veggies taste like they came out of a can. It is always best to use fresh or frozen vegetables. Never use can vegetables because they have a very distinctive taste from being soak in the preserving liquid. Nonetheless, this place has the potential to be great."

"The food and staff were amazing! Beautiful view of the bay. The only negative is that it is quite dark inside and in the evening you almost need to use the light on your phone to see the menu. Also the water on the island tastes like island water and I’d expect a place like this to serve better water. I ordered the ribeye and side of king crab. Both were cooked to perfection and seasoned amazingly. The key like pie for dessert was a perfect finish."

"We only visited this restaurant because our usual place was closed for renovations, and I’m so glad we did! We've found a new favorite spot on the island (we even returned for breakfast the second morning). It's a charming place with plenty of seating. The coffee selection is excellent; we tried the French Press, Vietnamese coffee, and regular drip, all of which were great. The breakfast options were impressive as well. My wife loved the Migas and ordered it both mornings, while I tried the crab cake benedict one morning (which was good) and a classic two-egg breakfast the next (also tasty). The service was fine, and the food was just as we ordered and very delicious. We will definitely be returning again and again!"
